How Does Paddy Power Acca Insurance Work?

Aimed solely at football fans, Paddy Power acca insurance offers a refund as a free bet to those punters whose qualifying accumulators fail to land due to just one leg.

To understand exactly how it works, we will now cover which accumulators are covered by the acca insurance and how and when refunds are paid.

Which Competitions and Matches are Eligible?

MatchesThe sensible place to start when explaining exactly which accumulators can benefit from this promotions is with which events and matches are actually covered by the offer.

As we’ve already said, the Paddy Power offer is purely for football accumulators and will not be applied to accas with selections from any other sport. Not all football matches are covered, either, with acca selections having to be drawn from the following competitions in order to be eligible:

  • English Premier League
  • Championship
  • League 1 & 2
  • FA Cup
  • English Football League Cup
  • English Football League Trophy
  • Spanish La Liga
  • German Bundesliga
  • Italian Serie A
  • French Ligue 1
  • Scottish Premiership
  • Scottish Championship
  • Scottish league 1 & 2
  • Scottish Cup
  • Scottish League Cup
  • Champions League
  • Europa League
  • Senior International matches
  • Which Type of Selections & How Many of Them are Needed?

MarketsSimply being composed of selections from the above leagues doesn’t guarantee that an acca will qualify. The accumulator must also only include selections from the win-draw-win match result market and no others.

There must also be at least five such selections and each and every one of them needs to be at odds of 1/5 or greater. It is only pre-match selections, too, which are eligible and they must be arranged into a straight accumulator and not a permutation bet (like a Lucky 15).

How and When is a Refund Paid?

RefundsWhen an accumulator meeting all of the criteria explained above fails due to just one of its legs being a loser, the punter who placed it will be credited with a free bet equal to the value of their stake up to a maximum of £20.

That free bet will be credited the day following the settlement of their acca, and any one punter can receive a maximum of up to four such free bets in any 24 hour period. The free bet remains valid for a total of seven days, and if any winnings result from its use they will not include the return of the stake.

    Example

It’s often easier to understand any offer if you can visualise how it works in practice, so let’s take a five fold acca worth £40 on five Champions League games as an example.

Assuming that those selections are all on the match result market, the acca qualifies for acca insurance and will lead to the crediting of a £40 free bet if four results go right and one goes wrong.

That free bet will be credited the day after the completion of the fifth game and will be available for a total of seven days. If it is then used and wins, the resulting winnings will be in real money but will not include the return of the initial £40 stake.

Paddy Power Accumulator Insurance: Terms & Conditions

As is the case with all promotions and offers, Paddy Power acca insurance is subject to a number of terms and conditions, they are summarised below:

    • Only five fold or greater accumulators placed using win-draw-win match result selections from the eligible football competitions qualify for Acca Insurance.
    • The accumulators must be straight accas and cannot be permutation bets (Lucky 15s etc.)
    • All selections must be pre-match rather than in-play selections.
    • The odds for each selection within an acca must be at least 1/5.
    • Any accumulators that are cashed out are excluded
    • If an abandonment or postponement reduces the legs in an acca to fewer than five, it is no longer eligible.
    • An Acca Insurance free bet is credited if a qualifying acca fails due to just one incorrect selection.
    • The free bet will be credited the day after settlement of the acca and will match the acca’s stake amount up to a maximum of £20.
    • Any one customer can receive up to four such free bets in any 24 hour period.
    • Bets with the same selections and number of legs as a previously qualified acca, will not credit a further free bet.
    • Free bets remain valid for a total of seven days, at which point any that are unused will be removed.
    • If any winnings result from use of a free bet, they will be exclusive of the bet stake.
