How Does William Hill Acca Five Insurance Work?

As its name suggests, William Hill acca insurance applies to accumulators of five selections or more and will refund punters with free bets if their accumulator comes within one result of being successful.

The maximum free bet provided is a total of £20 and customers are limited to one insurance free bet per day. That begs the question, then, of just which sports and events the Acca Five Insurance applies to.

What Sports & Events are Eligible?

MatchesUnlike many versions of acca insurance out there, William Hill’s Acca Five offer is not limited to simply football.

In fact, the recently updated promotion now extends to any and all sports on which the bookmaker allows punters to place bets.

What’s more, accumulators which include selections from various different sports and events are also eligible. That means that if the mood strikes, you could build an accumulator of football, racing, tennis and snooker selections and still benefit from the acca insurance.

Which Types of Selections & Bets Qualify?

MarketsFor an accumulator to qualify for accumulator insurance with William Hill, it must be comprised of five or more selections from the markets which William Hill stipulate as qualifying for the insurance.

For football those markets are match bet markets, match result markets and both teams to score markets. For most other sports, it is only match result markets which are eligible but further details can be found on the William Hill website.

For an accumulator to qualify each selection must be at odds of 1/5 (1.20) or greater.

Finally, it is also important to note that William Hill’s offer is limited to just straight accumulators and does not encompass named multiple or permutation bets, such as Yankee’s.

How and When is a Refund Paid?

RefundsIf you place an accumulator that fulfills all the above criteria, therefore, and it misses out thanks to just one selection William Hill will provide acca insurance. That insurance takes the form of a free bet and will be worth the same amount as your accumulator stake up to a maximum of £20.

The free bet will be credited to your account by midday of the day following the final settlement of your acca, and you then have seven days to use it. You can apply the free bet to a wager on any market or selection but if you don’t use it within the four days, it will be removed.

There’s a max refund of £20 per customer per day.

Example

If all of the above seems a little convoluted and complicated, perhaps a better way to explain how William Hill’s accumulator insurance promotion works is with an example.

Say you build an accumulator made up of four football match result selections and one horse racing result selection. As long as the selections are all at odds of 1/5 or greater or the football matches come from one of the tournaments listed above, the acca is eligible for acca insurance.

That means that if you place £20 on the accumulator and four of the selections are winners but one is not, then you will be credited with a £20 free bet by midday the day after the final selection is settled. You will then have seven days in which to use that free bet on any selection or market you desire.

William Hill Accumulator Insurance: Terms & Conditions

Like all promotions or bonuses, Five Insurance does have a number of terms and conditions. They are summarised succinctly below:

  • Acca insurance is paid as a free bet if a punter’s qualifying acca of five selections or more fails due to just one of those selections.
  • Each selection within the acca must be at odds of 1/5 (1.0) or greater.
  • Neither cashed in bets nor in-play bets are eligible.
  • Only straight accumulators qualify. Named multiple or permutation bets, such as Lucky 15s, are not eligible.
  • In the case of each-way accumulators, only the win parts of the selections are eligible for acca insurance.
  • Qualifying accumulators can mix and match selections from any sports, assuming that the market in question is one which is eligible for Acca Five Insurance. The full list of eligible markets can be found on the William Hill website.
  • If an abandonment or postponement limits the number of selections in an acca to fewer than five, the acca no longer qualifies.
  • The maximum free bet amount is £20 per customer per day.
  • Free bets are credited by midday on the day following settlement of the final selection within a qualifying acca.
  • The free bet can be used on any market or selection, and remains valid for four days. If it is not used in that time, it will be removed.
