How Does Ladbrokes Acca Insurance Work?

Ladbrokes acca insurance offers a refund of a punter’s stake as a free bet if a football accumulator of five legs or more fails due to just one of those selections. As simple and rewarding as that sounds, there are of course a few more ins and outs of the offer which we need to get to the bottom of.

What Matches & Competitions Does it Apply To?

MatchesAs we’ve already alluded to, this Ladbrokes promotion is limited to just football accumulators but it does not actually apply to every football match or competition that the bookmaker offers betting markets for.

The competitions and tournaments which are eligible, however, is quite diverse.

Here is the list:

  • Premier League
  • Championship
  • League One
  • League Two
  • FA Cup
  • EFL Cup

  • Scottish Ladbrokes Premiership
  • Scottish Championship

Note: recently this acca insurance offer was extended to all leagues offered on the Ladbrokes website.

How Many & Which Types of Selection are Needed?

MarketsFor an accumulator to qualify for Ladbrokes acca insurance it must contain at least five selections taken from one or a selection of the above competitions. Those selections, too, must be from only the win-draw-win match result market and not any other.

What’s more, selections must also all be pre-match selections and any which are in-play will make the acca ineligible for acca insurance. An acca is also made ineligible if it is partially cashed out or if it is edited through the bookmaker’s ‘Edit My Acca’ feature.

Finally, it should also be noted that the insurance only applies to straight accumulators. That means that any permutation bets, such as Lucky 15s, are excluded from the offer.

Each selection you make must also have a min odds requirement of 1/10 (1.10) and the acca must have accumulated odds of 3/1 or bigger (4.0)

How & When is a Refund Paid?

RefundsAssuming your acca fulfils all of the above criteria and you are unlucky enough to see it fail due to just one of the legs, a refund will be credited in the form of a free bet within 24 hours of the settlement of the qualifying acca.

That free bet will be matched to your acca stake amount but is capped at a maximum of £25, and you can receive only one such refund per day. Once credited, the free bet must be used in its entirety to place one wager and remains valid for seven days. If any winnings result from use of the free bet, those winnings will not include the return of the stake.

Let’s work through a practical example to demonstrate how the offer can work out for a punter. For the sake of that example, let’s assume that the accumulator backs five Premier League teams to win on a Saturday afternoon and has a stake amount of £20.

If four of those teams win but the other draws or loses, then the acca will trigger the refund. From noon on the Sunday, therefore, the punter’s account will be credited with a free bet token worth exactly £20. They will then have exactly seven days to use that bet for any one wager they like through the sportsbook.

Ladbrokes Accumulator Insurance: Terms & Conditions

One of the simpler acca insurance offers around, Ladbrokes accumualtor insurance is still subject to the following collection of terms and conditions:

  • Only accumulators of five selections or more, for which those selections are all from match result markets within the football competitions and tournaments listed above are eligible.
  • All selections within the acca must be from pre-match markets and only straight accumulators – not permutation bets – qualify.
  • Any accumulators partially cashed out or edited using the ‘Edit My Acca’ feature are excluded.
  • If an abandonment, postponement or other circumstance causes an acca’s selections to be limited to less than five, then Acca Insurance is void.
  • If a qualifying accumulator fails due to just one selection, a refund of the stake up to a maximum of £25 will be credited as a free bet.
  • That free bet will be credited from noon the day after settlement of the accumulator.
  • Customers are limited to one Acca Insurance free bet per day.
  • The free bet must be used once in its entirety and remains valid for a total of seven days.
  • If any winnings result from the use of the free bet, they will not include the free bet stake.
