Premier League Accumulator Tip – Sunday 2nd September
Last Sunday’s accumulator didn’t do the business with Palace not quite doing enough to get a draw against a Watford side that are starting to look like the real deal. I was also very disappointed with Burnley’s display against Fulham and it seems Sean Dyche’s men have some hard work to do on the training field if they are to anywhere near match their performances of last season.
Chelsea though duly obliged with an away win over Newcastle, although it was somewhat fortuitous in the end, but by then the acca had already gone down and I was already turning my attention to the weekend’s fixtures coming up.
Once again on Sunday we have a trio of games which I have bundled together into a rather attractive treble bet here. The odds may not be the longest on record, but I think the bet has a solid chance of landing us a winner for the first time this season.
I think Cardiff City fans will be realising just how big a step up it is from the Championship to the Premier League at this moment in time. They may have landed two draws so far from three games, but they are yet to score a goal and Neil Warnock’s team are not looking likely to trouble the scoresheet too often in any of the games they play. Arsenal bounced back from two defeats in a row, to win 3-1 at West Ham but it was another unconvincing display at times and Unai Emery clearly has his work cut out with this Arsenal team. That said, I think Cardiff on the road is about as easy as an away game gets in the Premier League this season so I am backing the Gunners to get the job done here.
Burnley v Manchester United – Away Win
Both of these teams have had poor starts to the season with Burnley taking just one point from three games, while Manchester United have three, but have lost their last two games, conceding three goals in each. Burnley’s defence, so tough last season, has been equally porous conceding the same number of goals in the last two Premier League games as United’s. Of course, United have the quality and I’m backing them to bounce back with a win here because anything less and the pressure would be huge on Jose Mourinho. This will be a really tough game for United and against the Burnley of last season I’d have feared for them, but this season Burnley haven’t started well, hence United should get the win. Just.
Watford v Tottenham – Away Win
Both these teams have 100% records so far this season and both come into this game with great confidence. Watford are exceeding expectations to lie in the top four, while Spurs brilliant win over Manchester United at Old Trafford on Monday moved them into second spot and has sent a clear message to their title rivals. This should be a cracking match on Sunday afternoon as a result and I think it will be a game that will ebb and flow. I expect Watford to put up a strong fight but I think the way Spurs played against United will serve them well here and I’m backing them to come away with their 10% record still intact.
