Bundesliga Acca: Sat 6th & Sun 7th June 2020

Last weeks review of the data of the Bundesliga season so far resulted in a much better set of tips, but unfortunately we didn’t quite land the full set. Still, at least it is a marked improvement on how things have gone so far.

It has been slim pickings for most punters over the course of the first few games back for the Bundesliga and the shocks still continued this weekend and once again we saw six out of the nine games played end in away victories. That is 18 wins out of 36 games going to the away team, that is 50%. For a good comparison, on average, away teams win around 26.3% of games in usual circumstances.

However I was heartened last week in that a number of games went pretty much as I expected them, although I was annoyed I didn’t stick with my original prediction for Bremen to win their game and instead opted for what I felt was the better value draw option. I won’t make that mistake again this week.

I’ve picked a couple of games each from Saturday and Sunday this time around to get some good value odds in the bets, so here’s hoping this selection of tips will be a winner. We are certainly due a change of luck!

Bet Analysis: Saturday 6th June

Eintracht Frankfurt v Mainz 05 – Home Win

I have to admit to not being totally surprised that Frankfurt were winners at Wolfsburg last weekend. Prior to that game I had watched them somehow only draw 3-3 with Freiburg despite dominating the game and having more chances in that game than I have seen other teams have since the restart. I do feel they have turned the corner a little now after picking up four points in their last two games while Mainz only have two draws to show from their two away games so far against Cologne and Union Berlin. I feel Frankfurt are a little better than both those teams, even though the table doesn’t really show it, so I am backing them to claim a second win in a row to ease their relegation fears.

Fortuna Dusseldorf v Hoffenheim – Away Win

After being slaughtered by Bayern at the weekend ina. 5-0 defeat, Fortuna Dusseldorf’s mini-revival came to a swift end. They now face a Hoffenheim side who came through their poor spell of form to record two good wins and solid performances in their last two games. Dusseldorf have not lost many of late, bt their only win in the last five has come at home to a floundering Schalke 04 and I think Hoffenheim, now they have hit their stride will be a much more difficult side to beat. I can see Hoffenheim’s defence being key here, keeping Dusseldorf at bay and meaning that a single away goal should win it for the visitors.

Bet Analysis: Sunday 7th June

Werder Bremen v Wolfsburg – Away Win

Werder Bremen could be out of the automatic relegation places if they have won in midweek against Eintracht Frankfurt, and they then face Wolfsburg on Sunday lunchtime in what should be an intriguing game. Wolfsburg are sixth but their form has been hugely erratic, thumping Bayer Leverkusen 4-1 on the road, but losing st h ome to both Dortmund and Frankfurt. Bremen’s form has been more consistent, despite their lowly league position and seven points from the last nine available has given them a fighting chance of avoiding the drop. However, I feel with a game in midweek, tiredness could be a key issue here and I fancy Wolfsburg, the more rested of the two, to take advantage to claim another away win here.

Union Berlin v Schalke 04 – Home Win

Having picked up just one point from 12 available since the restart, Union Berlin will be delighted to be back home and facing a Schalke 04 team who have yet to register a point of any form since the season restarted.  Four defeats, just one goal scored and ten conceded paints a picture of a team not really performing for David Wagner at the moment and although they are safe in the Bundesliga, that is a real worry. Union Berlin’s need for points is greater than Schalke and they are playing the better of the two teams. Add to that home advantage and Schalke’s general demeanour at the moment and I feel this is a game that Berlin will likely win, but likely by just the single goal.
