Christmas EPL Acca – 26th & 27th December

Merry Christmas! I hope you had as enjoyable a Christmas Day as was possible given the somewhat unusual circumstances, and if you have had your fill of turkey, mince pies and alcohol already and want to spend a relaxing Boxing Day watching the football, then we have your perfect accompaniment – a set of tips to form a special Christmas acca bet!

I do have to say that it has not been easy to predict results this season. The unpredictable nature of the Premier League has been well evident with unusual results, sometimes several, cropping up each and every week. That has meant hitting winners has been incredibly tricky. Not just for me, but for every tipster.

So, I think for the time being, I am going to play it a little safer. With that comes an admission that as a result, the odds on some of these acca bets are not going to be huge, but I think at the moment with things being so tricky to predict, it is best to go for the safer bets more often.

This week sees two Matchdays played in very quick succession. We have Matchday 15 being played on the 26th and 27th December and then Matchday 16 gets underway immediately with games on the 28th, 29th and 30th December and of course, we will have your usual tips for those games with you at 9am on the 28th.

For this set of tips we have a number of big games to enjoy including Leicester City and Manchester United in a 2nd v 3rd clash in the Premier League, plus we have Manchester City taking on Newcastle on Boxing Day evening as well as a massive London derby as Arsenal take on Chelsea with both desperately needing a win.

On the 27th we see Wolves face Spurs as well as Liverpool at home to West Brom amongst a quartet of games that are being played throughout Sunday.

So let me wish you once again a Merry Christmas and let us hope that this set of tips lands us a festive windfall! We are all certainly due a change of luck!

Bet Analysis: Saturday 26th December

Leicester City v Manchester United – Away Win

It’s hard to know what to make of Leicester. Like United, their away form is superb and they have only lost once (at Anfield to Liverpool) on the road this season and they have beaten Tottenham, Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea on the road. However, at home, the Foxes have been uncharacteristically poor and have lost a number of games you would have thought they would have won. You can say exactly the same about Manchester United too, as their 6-2 win over Leeds last weekend was a rare home win. On the road though, United have been perfect racking up win after win. It is als0 2nd v 3rd in the EPL table here too that adds plenty of spice but for me, I think it will be Manchester United that celebrate the win and with it 2nd place in the table.

Arsenal v Chelsea – Away Win

To say that Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is under a bit of pressure is an understatement. The Gunners are close to becoming embroiled in a relegation battle and with Aubameyang’s fitness still in doubt for this game, they face taking on Chelsea minus their biggest striking threat. Chelsea bounced back to form with a 3-0 win over West Ham on Monday night and that win will have pleased Frank Lampard going into another London derby. Neither side’s form over the last 5 games is that impressive but I just feel Chelsea have the edge and will snatch the win.

Bet Analysis: Sunday 27th December

West Ham v Brighton – Home Win

The Hammers slumped to defeat away to Chelsea on Monday night and they face a Brighton side that have not won any of their last five games in the EPL. The Seagulls dropped below Burnley after Sean Dyche’s men defeated Wolves 2-1 on Monday night and I don’t think their position is going to improve much here. West Ham have bounced back from poor results well this season and I think David Moyes team are primed to do that here and should pick up another big three points to keep them well in touch with the teams at the top of the table.

Wolves v Tottenham – Away Win

Two defeats in a row has seen Spurs drop from top of the EPL table down to 6th and they are now six points behind the league leaders Liverpool. Now they face a very tricky trip to Wolves who themselves are not in great shape having lost three of their last four games. However the game they did win was at home to Chelsea and that will be a warning to Spurs here not to take this game lightly. However, Spurs did win here last season and I think they will know another defeat here could be a huge blow to their title hopes. As such, I am backing them to clinch a narrow victory to keep them in touch at the top of the table.
