EPL Accumulator Tip – 31st Oct – 1st Nov

A couple of unusual results, such as West Ham earning their first point against Manchester City in the last 11 matches between the sides, somewhat scuppered my tips last week, but overall, I am still hitting more matches correctly than I am getting wrong and I think that bodes well going forward into what is now going to be the busiest part of the season for many teams.

With midweek games most weeks either in Europe, the league or for international games, I do expect to see the top teams rotating their squads considerably over the next couple of months, especially as the colder weather begins to set in and niggles and strains can become something more serious.

That can impact on how they perform in the league somewhat, but in truth, managers have been rotating for a while now anyway when they can, with some top stars sitting out what are judged to be lesser games (notably in the Carabao Cup). So it is something I will need to factor in to predictions going forward.

I do feel like I am getting very close to hitting a good acca win one weekend and hopefully this fourfold outlined below will be the one. I’ve included some cracking games from the weekend on this selection including Liverpool’s game with an in-form West Ham at Anfield and the massive clash at Old Trafford on Sunday as Manchester United lock horns with Arsenal a week after they faced Chelsea on their home patch.

Let’s take a look at the tips I have put together for this weekend for you.

Bet Analysis: Saturday 31st October

Burnley v Chelsea – Away Win

Chelsea have been guilty of throwing away some points in their recent games. Not so much against Manchester United last week, but definitely in the game against Southampton and also away to West Brom. They will need to stop shipping so many goals against lesser teams in order to stay in touch at the top of the table here and I think that process will start here against a Burnley side sorely lacking form and confidence. After losing to Tottenham on Monday night, I think Chelsea will be able to follow Spurs example and keep Burnley’s strikeforce out and pick off the chances that their pacy players like Pulisic and Werner are likely to create. Frank Lampard needs a good win from his team and I think they’ll get that here.

Liverpool v West Ham United – Home Win

Liverpool are playing at home, so it is a home win? Well, their record over the last three years is incredible at Anfield but there have been signs that they are creaking under that expectation of late, most notably against Leeds but also against Sheffield United last weekend. That 2-1 win was hardly convincing and they face a West Ham side that has earned a point against Manchester City for the first time in 11 games last weekend. The Hammers are in good form at the moment and they gave Liverpool a real battle at Anfield last season too in a 3-2 defeat. Many may feel that this is a home banker but I am not so sure. I almost went for the draw here, but in the end, I just feel the Reds attack may just do enough to carry them to a narrow victory. Mark my words though, it will not be easy.

Bet Analysis: Sunday 1st November

Aston Villa v Southampton – Away Win

After being well-beaten by Leeds United last week, has the bubble burst for Aston Villa? This is a really tricky game for them against a Southampton side that ended Everton’s unbeaten start to the season last weekend and who have not lost any of their last four. In contrast, Villa are a very streaky team and they are as likely, in my view, to put together a run of defeats as they are a run of victories. I fancy Southampton to pick off Villa on the attack now their aura of invincibility has gone and I can see a similar kind of game to what happened against Leeds. Hence I am backing the Saints here.

Manchester United v Arsenal – Home Win

A cracking game is in prospect at Old Trafford as United face another major rival from London this week in Arsenal. After their 0-0 draw with Chelsea last weekend, United do badly need a pick me up result in the Premier League and against an Arsenal side that don’t have the best of records at Old Trafford, I can see them getting it here. The Gunners will make this a very close game, as they have against Liverpool and Manchester City on the road this season, but I do feel United will do just enough to clinch the win.
