Midweek EPL Acca Special – 10th-12th May

I must begin with an apology this week as last week, for some reason, my analysis of the four games didn’t appear on the article when I posted it up. I don’t really know what happened there as I certainly wrote them – all I can assume is that I saved over them with an older file – so many apologies for that.

As it was, I couldn’t follow that £300+ win of a couple of weeks back with another at the weekend which is a shame, but even so, I am guaranteed a healthy profit of a few hundred quid on this season regardless.

But I would still like to land one more acca at the very least!

Time is running out for me a bit with that, so I have decided to cash in on the fact we have a number of postponed and rearranged games taking place in midweek this week in the Premier League, involving teams engaged in fierce battles for the title, European places and against relegation.

So with that in mind, I have put together a midweek special which I am hoping can bring me a little extra cash to bolster the profit margins on the season.

Games include Liverpool’s trip to Aston Villa, a game the Reds lost 7-2 last season and on the back of their 1-1 draw against Spurs on Saturday night, the Reds will badly need to bounce back here.

We also have Man City’s trip to Wolves on Wednesday, with City needing just seven points from their last three games to clinch the title, a win here would be a massive step towards achieving that.

We also have huge games for Leeds, who face Chelsea and Everton who are away to Watford, while the North London derby between Spurs and Arsenal could have a massive impact on who finishes in the top four.

Here’s my tips for this week.

Bet Analysis: Wednesday 11th May

Leicester City v Norwich City – Home Win

Leicester have hit another poor run of form and they continue to drop down the table and the pressure must be building on Brendan Rodgers after what has been a very poor season in the Premier League by their own standards of late. However, despite that loss to Everton at the weekend, the Foxes should seek to bounce back here against a Norwich side already relegated and who have been out of their depth in this company since the first week of the new season. Leicester should win this one and win it well and if they don’t a few questions may well be asked as to why.

Watford v Everton – Away Win

Watford’s relegation back to the Championship was confirmed at the weekend when they lost to Palace, but Everton improved their prospects of avoiding the drop hugely with a massively important 2-1 win away to Leicester City, only their second away win of the season and their first since August. Now, the Toffees could put themselves in an even stronger position with another win here against already-relegated Watford. The Hornets did inflict a 5-2 defeat on Everton at Goodison earlier this season but I think the way both teams are playing now, with Watford losing their last six and Everton just one of their last five, means the Toffees should be able to take another key win here.

Wolverhampton Wanderers v Manchester City – Away Win

A win for Manchester City here would be a massive stride towards the title and I think Pep Guardiola and his team will know this. Wolves have made things tough for City at times. They went down to an unfortunate 1-0 defeat when the teams met earlier this season at the Etihad and defensively they have been solid this season. The problem I have with Wolves is that they don’t score enough goals and I think that is what will be their undoing here. I can’t see City running up another five goals like they did against Newcastle United at the weekend, but I think the visitors will claim a very vital win for their title hopes.

Bet Analysis: Thursday 12th May

Tottenham Hotspur v Arsenal – Home Win

The race for fourth in the table is heating up with Spurs and Arsenal now chasing down Chelsea in third place and depending how results go this week, we could have a very dramatic last two weeks of the season involving these three London giants. Arsenal hold onto fourth at the moment but they are just a point behind Chelsea. Spurs are four behind Arsenal so badly need a win here and in truth, given how they have played against Man City and Liverpool in recent times, if they can play like that again here, then I think they can land the win to make that race for a top four spot all the more exciting.
