Midweek EPL Accumulator: 28th, 29th & 30th December

Barely have the games for Boxing Day and the 27th finished and we are now into Matchday 16 in the Premier League with three games on Monday 28th, five on Tuesday 29th and the final two on Wednesday 30th being the final games of the Premier League in 2020.

I’m sure I am not alone in being exceptionally glad to see the end of 2020 and before I continue, I would like to wish you all a very happy New Year. Let’s hope everyone has a much safer and social 2021 and that not only things improve for us all, but maybe we can strike it lucky with this final acca bet of the year!

Due to the incredibly quick turnaround, I am having to write this set of tips before the games have been played on the 26th and 27th, so the data you see may be slightly out of date. Apologies for that, but there was just no way I could get them done any other way. However for my next set of tips, the first in 2021, things will be bang up to date as usual.

There are a number of intriguing games to finish the year off in the EPL. Manchester United v Wolves looks a good one, as does Arsenal’s trip to Brighton and it is going to be interesting to see how Leicester do away to Crystal Palace. The big game though is at Goodison Park where Everton host Manchester City with both sides harbouring ambitions of success in 2021. This is a real acid test for both to see if they are genuinely capable of maintaining their challenge into the New Year.

Tottenham face Fulham on Wednesday evening in a London derby while the final game of the year sees Champions and current league leaders Liverpool taking on Newcastle at St James’ Park in a game where the Reds have struggled a little in recent times.

All that remains is to say once again, have a very happy New Year, here’s to a much better 2021 and let’s hope that we can end the year with a bang with this selection of tips!

Bet Analysis: Monday 28th December

Crystal Palace v Leicester City – Away Win

I think how Leicester fared against Manchester United in their last game won’t have too big an influence on how they approach this game. The Foxes away form this season has not been an issue with just one defeat in those games. Palace’s home form has been patchy, looking good in some games but last time out at home they were smashed to bits 7-0 by a ruthless Liverpool performance that was the best of any team in the EPL this season. That may well have left a scar and while Palace will want a response here, I don’t think they will get it as I am backing Leicester to pick up another win on the road.

Everton v Manchester City – Draw

2021 promises to be an important year for both these teams. There is no doubt that the signs are that this Manchester City side are on the decline, especially in attack where they have struggled for goals this season. Defensively though City have improved and it that which makes me think that they are going to get something from this game. A few weeks ago, I did suspect Everton were about to drop down into mid-table obscurity, but a fine set of wins over the likes of Leicester, Arsenal and Chelsea have brought them right back into contention for the top four. If Carlo Ancelotti’s men want to achieve that, then they need to win these types of games. I can’t quite see that happening here though as I feel this game is most likely to finish in a 1-1 draw.

Bet Analysis: Tuesday 29th December

Manchester United v Wolves – Home Win

Are there real signs Manchester United are emerging as Liverpool’s most dangerous title rivals? If they can get their home form right, then United could well be their rivals most dangerous opponents in the title race. Wolves are always a tough team to break down even on the road, and United are susceptible at home to teams who hit on the counter as Wolves will. However, United are gaining a bit of confidence now and as such, I think they will land another important win here.

Bet Analysis: Wednesday 30th December

Newcastle United v Liverpool – Away Win

After that thumping win over Palace, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp will be hoping his team can pick up maximum points over the festive period with a home game against West Brom followed by a trip to Newcastle. This looks the slightly tougher of the two games, but with Newcastle missing two key men in Lascalles and Saint-Maximin and Liverpool’s away form much improved after that 7-0 thrashing of Crystal Palace, I am backing the Reds to come away from home once again and pick up another relatively rare road victory to send them into New Year at the top of the Premier League table.
