Midweek Premier League Acca – 2nd – 4th March

Another 50% performance at the weekend and it is fair to say that this season is without doubt the toughest I have ever had to make tips for with the amount of unusual results that there have been since the season began.

Anyway, we have a chance to earn that elusive win with an extra set of midweek games this week. Seven matches take place in the EPL from Tuesday night through to Thursday and a number of the top six are all in action in what could be some pivotal games come the end of the season.

The biggest match comes at Anfield where Liverpool lock horns with Chelsea hoping that their dismal home form does not come back to bite them once again. After going a couple of years unbeaten at home, the Reds have lost their last four at home and have not won in six games on their own soil.

Chelsea are unbeaten under Thomas Tuchel and come into the game having secured a 0-0 draw with Manchester United at Stamford Bridge at the weekend.

Other games see Manchester City seek to make it 21 wins in a row against Wolves at the Etihad, while Tottenham face Fulham in what will be a crucial game for both teams. Manchester United head to London to face Crystal Palace while Everton head to the MIdlands to face West Brom.

As per usual, we have gone through the games and put together our four best picks for this midweek accumulator bet.

Bet Analysis: Tuesday 2nd March

Manchester City v Wolves – Home Win

I’ll admit that this is not the most adventurous of picks given that Manchester City have won all of their last 20 games in all competitions, however I would say that Wolves did beat them at the Etihad last season. That said, I don’t expect Nuno Santos men to get another positive result here given the form City are in. Having despatched a very good West Ham side at the weekend, I expect the home side to pick up another big three points here to take another big step towards regaining the Premier League title in May. In truth, it only looks like being a matter of time before City are proclaimed the deserved new Champions.

Bet Analysis: Wednesday 3rd March

Burnley v Leicester – Away Win

Burnley were abysmal in their 4-0 loss away to Tottenham at the weekend, but in truth Leicester were not much better in their surprising 3-1 home loss to Arsenal. That was their second defeat in a row for the Foxes and Brendan Rodgers will be keen to get back to winning ways to stop Leicester having their own slide down the table. I do expect a reaction from Burnley from their Gareth Bale-inspired mauling by Spurs at the weekend, but I just feel Leicester are a real threat on the road. The Foxes will miss the injured Harvey Barnes though, but I feel they do have enough talent to ensure that they pick up the three points here.

Bet Analysis: Thursday 4th March

Fulham v Tottenham – Away Win

Fulham have lost just one of their last six games and in picking up points regularly, have clawed themselves back into contention to remain in the Premier League as they are now just three points behind Newcastle United after 26 games. That is a fantastic achievement for Scott Parker’s team given they were in deep trouble just after Christmas. Spurs form of late has not been great but with Gareth Bale on song against Burnley they landed a morale boosting 4-0 win at the weekend and I think the Welshman is going to be key figure here. With him in form, Spurs attack is a real danger to any team and I think they will be too much for Fulham’s defence to cope with here.

Liverpool v Chelsea – Away Win

Liverpool picked up a much needed win and clean sheet away to Sheffield United on Sunday night, but they put their awful home form on the line once again this time against a Chelsea side that are unbeaten under Thomas Tuchel. Having won in Madrid against Atletico last week, this trip to Anfield won’t worry the visitors unduly, especially with a makeshift Liverpool back line set to play against them. Fabinho and Alisson should return for the Reds for this game and they will need to but even so, I don’t see them ending their Anfield hoodoo here just yet. Chelsea for me look the better of the two teams and I am calling this as I see it; a win for the Londoners.
