Premier League Acca: 21st & 22nd November

The final international break of the season is over and despite going close on both sets of acca tips for those games, we didn’t quite land a winner, but I am hopeful that as we get back to the domestic action, we can pick up that win that I feel we have been owed for quite a while now.

What a weekend back of action it promises to be too as we have a number of high profile games including Leeds taking on Arsenal at Elland Road, Tottenham hosting Manchester City and then on Sunday night injury hit Liverpool take on the Premier League leaders Leicester City at Anfield. We also have two games on Monday night as Burnley face Palace and Wolves take on a resurgent Southampton.

For this set of tips though I am focusing only on the games on Saturday and Sunday and I think there are some fantastic odds options here. Some weekends, I find it hard to find good value odds from the selections, but this weekend, I could have added another 2 or 3 selections to this list at great odds and it was more a case of which games do I leave out of the selection, than which ones go in.

As such, I do have very high hopes for this group of games and I have tried to pick games where I think not only do you get great value odds, but the form and squad levels of the teams playing have not been as badly hit as some others, such as Liverpool for example as goodness knows what their back four will look like in their game with Leicester this weekend.

So with that in mind, let us now take a look at the tips I have put together for this weekend.

Bet Analysis: Saturday 21st November

Aston Villa v Brighton – Home Win

It is fair to say that Aston Villa have been the surprise team in the Premier League this season. Pairing Ross Barkley with Jack Grealish and John McGinn in midfield seems to be a masterstroke by Dean Smith and while they have come unstuck a couple of times, a very good win away to Arsenal last time out set them up nicely for their first game back. Brighton have played some nice football this season and probably deserve more points than they have earned and they will cause Villa a few problems, however I think that Villa have the extra quality in midfield and in attack to get the job done here and pick up another valuable win.

Tottenham v Manchester City – Home Win

Second placed Tottenham will know that they will not have a better test of their credentials as a potential Premier League winner with the visit of Manchester City. The citizens picked up a draw at home to Liverpool last time out but this is a tough trip for them to face on their first game back after international duty. With Kane and Son on fire for Tottenham at the moment, with Gareth Bale and Lucas Moura in more supporting roles, Spurs look to have the firepower to cause that suspect City back line some real problems. City will likely score a goal, they tend to against Spurs and have a good record against them generally, but I do feel that this is a game that if Spurs play as they have been, they can win.

Bet Analysis: Sunday 22nd November

Sheffield United v West Ham – Away Win

Sheffield United have struggled to match the consistency and form they showed last season in the Premier League and they face a tough game on Sunday against a West Ham side that are starting to show some real form for manager David Moyes with just one defeat in their last five games (and that came at Liverpool). I really like the way the Hammers are playing at the moment and with the Blades blunted and finding goals very difficult to come by, I think the Hammers may just sneak the win here by a single goal.

Leeds v Arsenal – Home Win

What do you make of Mikel Arteta’s Gunners? Sure they have beaten Man City and Liverpool under their manager, but recently they have lost two of their last five and were well beaten at home by Aston Villa last time out. They are mid-table in the Premier League and that must be ranked as a disappointment for them. Leeds have also blown hot and cold and have just one win in their last five games but Marcelo Bielsa won’t compromise on his principles and the way his team presses and harries makes me fearful of another Arsenal defensive calamity here and as such, I am backing Leeds to pick up the home win.
