Premier League Acca – 23rd & 24th October

No luck in the Champions League in midweek, however I still have the Europa League games to go and I am hopeful that they may earn us a profit. However, we are turning our attention this weekend to the Premier League with a total of nine games taking place across Saturday and Sunday.

That’s because on Friday night Arsenal and Aston Villa match up at the Emirates Stadium, with the Gunners hoping to keep their five game unbeaten run going, while Villa will be hoping to stop a run of two defeats in their last two games.

The remaining games are spread over the weekend but there’s no doubt that the more appealing games are taking place on Sunday. Chelsea and Manchester City have winnable games on Saturday against Norwich and Brighton respectively, while Everton will seek to get back to winning ways against Watford.

However on Sunday, we have an intriguing match between Brentford and Leicester as well as a huge London derby as West Ham take on Tottenham and then in the final game of the week, we see Manchester United and Liverpool lock horns in what should be an interesting battle between the two giants at Old Trafford.

I’ve split my selections this week into two on Saturday and two on Sunday and I am quietly confident that they are going to give us a very good chance of landing another winner this season.

Let’s take a closer look at this weekend’s tips below.

Bet Analysis: Saturday 23rd October

Crystal Palace v Newcastle United – Home Win

Newcastle may be the richest team in the world, but they are still a long way from being safe in the Premier League this season. Steve Bruce paid the price for last week’s 3-2 loss to Tottenham in midweek and with no incoming new manager seemingly on the horizon, Newcastle go into this game with a caretaker boss. Palace have been in good form of late, losing just one of their last five and they were unlucky to only draw on the road at Arsenal on Monday night. Patrick Vieira is starting to build a nice looking team at Selhurst Park and I think as things stand, they should feel confident of picking up the three points here on Saturday.

Southampton v Burnley – Home Win

Burnley have struggled this season and find themselves in the relegation zone and without a win. Sean Dyche won’t panic just yet, his team have been in this position before, but he will know that he needs a win sooner rather than later, especially with the teams above them starting to put a distance between themselves and the bottom three. I can’t quite see them getting it here against Southampton though. The Saints earned a vital win over Leeds last time out to end a two game losing streak and I think they will feel confident heading into this home game. I can’t see a game with many goals here and it may be another one-goal victory but I feel the Saints will be the team that earn it.

Bet Analysis: Sunday 24th October

West Ham v Tottenham Hotspur – Home Win

This London derby game has been keenly contested in recent years and I think this game won’t be any different. Given how both teams have started the season and their relative strengths and weaknesses, you can make a case for either team winning the game, but I do feel with West Ham being at home,  that is a big advantage in these derby games. Spurs form has been so up and down this season it is hard to make head or tail of them, brilliant one moment and awful the next. The Hammers have greater consistency and I think that and the way Declan Rice is playing a the moment will see them to the win here.

Manchester United v Liverpool – Draw

Manchester United come into this game on the back of a morale-boosing come from behind win over Atalanta in midweek. 2-0 down at half time, they struck back to win 3-2 and claim a huge confidence boost on the back of it. They may well need it against a Liverpool side unbeaten this season and who defeated Atletico Madrid 3-2 in midweek in Spain. The Reds won this fixture 4-2 last season but their record at Old Trafford isn’t great and 7 of the last 13 games between the teams have finished all-square. I can see something similar happening here to be honest and so the draw looks the best bet.
