Premier League Acca Tip – Sat 20th October

We had a decent weekend last time, landing our Sunday treble when Acca TipsLiverpool and Manchester City played out the draw. Admittedly, it wasn’t the biggest acca win I’ve ever had, but it was a win and a profit, which is always something to be thankful for.

After the break for UEFA Nations League games and the odd friendly, we’re back in action this weekend with a full selection of Premier League games, eight on Saturday, one on Sunday and then the final game on Monday between Arsenal and Leicester City at the Emirates.

After landing a winner last week, I hope that accumulator wins are like buses and that another one turns up quickly straight after. We’re beyond the start of the season now and almost at the quarter-season stage, so hopefully things should be a little easier to predict from now on.

Big games this weekend include Chelsea taking on Manchester United at Saturday lunchtime, Man City facing Burnley, West Ham taking on Spurs and in form Bournemouth facing Southampton in a South Coast derby.

Here’s my acca tip for Saturday’s Premier League games.

Bet Analysis: Saturday 20th October

Chelsea v Manchester United – Home Win

Chelsea’s solid start to the season will be tested at Stamford Bridge on Saturday lunchtime when former boss Jose Mourinho brings his Manchester United side to challenge them. United will be delighted after their come-from-behind 3-2 win over Newcastle last time out answered a few critics, but there’s still no doubt something is not quite right at the club. In contrast, Chelsea are flying although Eden Hazard’s comments in the week about leaving the club next summer will no doubt be a concern, given the Belgian’s brilliant form. This should be a good game but in truth I can only see one winner here and that I think will be the home side.

Bournemouth v Southampton – Home Win

After a stunning performance last time out against Watford, where they cruised to a 4-0 win at Vicarage Road, Bournemouth head into this game in sixth place in the Premier League table, facing a Southampton side that were undone 3-0 at home by Chelsea last time out. South Coast derby matches are always tough affairs and there’s an extra edge to these games. For me, Bournemouth have been by far the better and more consistent side this season and as a result, I feel they will get the win here against a Southampton side that I think are flattering to deceive at times.

Newcastle United v Brighton – Home Win

Before Newcastle United’s late capitulation at Old Trafford last time out, they looked set for a stunning win and while the nature of that defeat will have hurt Rafa Benitez and his team, I don’t actually feel as if they are playing that badly. The home side have had an incredibly tough opening eight game stretch and I think this is the first home game they have had where they have a genuine chance of victory. Brighton tend to be strong at home but poor on the road and from what I have seen of both teams this season, I think Newcastle may well cause something of a surprise and land their first win of the season here.

West Ham v Tottenham – Draw

West Ham come into this game with generally improved form, although their defeat last time out at Brighton will have stung. At home though, the Hammers are looking much stronger and they take on a Spurs team that are not quite firing at full speed at the moment. An unconvincing 1-0 win over Cardiff, plus concerns over the fitness of Christian Eriksen makes me wonder if Spurs can win this game. West Ham have already drawn with Chelsea at home this season and I think they’ll make it a London double with a similar result against Tottenham at the London Stadium on Saturday.
