Premier League Accumulator – 20th & 21st November

That is the final International break of the year now out of the way and of course, it was good to see England qualify for the World Cup Finals and also Scotland and Wales make it through as one of the six seeded teams in the playoffs.

Hopefully a favourable draw can come their way and allow them a chance to go to Qatar in December next year too.

However, I have to be honest and say that I am happy that we are now going to be getting into the most crucial part of the season. This period from mid-November through to February, is often the time when teams can make or break their season.

And for us, it means a busy period of fixtures, including the first of a couple of midweek Premier League matchdays coming up in a fortnight or so.

Before that though we have two more EPL matchdays and a full week of European action next week, so let’s turn our attention to the games this weekend, which includes a number of big games.

First up, we have a big game at the King Power as Leicester face Chelsea. We have Manchester United trying to get back to winning ways away to Watford, while Wolves and West Ham clash at Molyneux, followed by the evening game as Liverpool face Arsenal at Anfield.

On Sunday we have Manchester City taking on Everton followed by an intriguing game between Spurs and Leeds.

As is always the case, I’ve gone through the games this week and come up with an accumulator I feel offers us a good chance of a decent return. Here’s my tips:

Bet Analysis: Saturday 20th November

Leicester City v Chelsea – Away Win

The last ten games between these teams have seen four draws and three wins apiece and even in their last four matches, both teams have won two. As such, while there may be a large gap in the table between the two teams, results have proven to be relatively close between them in recent times. Leicester certainly have the quality to beat Chelsea, as they did in the FA Cup Final last May, but their form at the moment is very inconsistent and they seem to follow a couple of good performances with a couple of bad ones. The Foxes have now not won in four games in the league. Chelsea, in contrast, remain top of the table and have been beaten just the once this season and I think they have the quality to get the job done here.

Burnley v Crystal Palace – Draw

Palace have a dismal recent record against Burnley, losing the last three, but before that they had won four in a row against the same opponents. There has been just one draw between these two teams in the last 14 games, but that is my preferred scoreline here for a number of reasons. Firstly, both teams have drawn a lot of games this season, Burnley five and Palace a Premier League high of six. Burnley’s lack of wins is what keeps them in the drop zone and with just two defeats, Palace have proven hard to beat, but found converting that into wins tough. Add that up with a Burnley home fixture and I think that we are looking at a likely 0-0 or 1-1 draw.

Norwich City v Southampton – Away Win

A win in their last game wasn’t enough to save Daniel Farke’s job and now Dean Smith has taken over at Carrow Road, given the task of saving Norwich from the drop. He begins his reign with a game against Southampton, a side who have not lost any of their last five EPL games, winning three of them to move up into a comfortable 13th place in the table. Given their form and the fact Norwich have struggled so much this season, I am going to go with Southampton to land the win here, despite the fact I think Dean Smith is a very good appointment for the Canaries. He will turn things around here, but I think it will be too hard to do so in just over a week.

Bet Analysis: Sunday 21st November

Tottenham v Leeds United – Home Win

These two teams are very inconsistent. Both play some excellent football at times and are capable of beating any of the teams in the division, but both have also struggled for any degree of consistency this season, which has already cost Nuno Santos his job at Spurs. Leeds won’t sack Marcelo Bielsa of course, but their form has been worrying and they have struggled to pick up wins. The decisive factor for me here is Harry Kane’s form for England. Those seven goals in the break will have given him a huge confidence boost and I think that may be the difference between the two teams here.
