Premier League Accumulator – December 11th & 12th

We didn’t quite hit the best of form last week which was a bit disappointing, especially after landing a win in the Europa League of late, however I am still getting a good percentage of results right and if that continues, then I am sure another winner will be along shortly.

However, I won’t lie to you – this weeks selection of games is a real mixed bag. First off we have Brentford v Watford on Friday, which means we are one game down on the selection for Saturday and Sunday.

Then on Saturday we have five games where it looks very obvious, and very short odds on which team will win the game. Put it this way, I put together a fourfold on Saturday’s games that I felt would be a winner and the odds came out at around 2.80. So just under 2/1 for a fourfold accumulator!

So you can imagine that I totally disregarded that as there are easier ways to treble your money than that. So what I have done is take one game from Saturday as a kind of banker, and then I have added three from Sunday, which has four far more even contests and much better odds.

The net result is a bet which I feel has a great chance of success but which also pays out at great value odds if it is a winner.

Saturday’s games include Man City v Wolves, Chelsea v Leeds, Liverpool v Aston Villa, Norwich v Man Utd and Arsenal v Southampton, so you can perhaps see why the odds were so short on a Saturday only selection.

I’ve picked one of these games and a couple from Sunday for this set of tips as you can see below.

Bet Analysis: Saturday 11th December

Arsenal v Southampton – Home Win

My only choice from Saturday’s selection of games is Arsenal’s game with Southampton and this is for two reasons, firstly, the Gunners were the best price of the picks on Saturday and secondly, the other option on Sunday was a game that I really felt was too difficult to predict (Leicester v Newcastle). Arsenal though need a win after what was a lacklustre and somewhat boring performance away to Everton on Monday night. They sorely missed Emile Smith Rowe in midfield and they are going to have to do much better in order to get something here. Saints have drawn their last two games but I think they are going to struggle to get anything here.

Bet Analysis: Sunday 12th December

Brighton v Tottenham – Away Win

Brighton have drawn four of their last five, which suggests to me that they are a team that is difficult to beat but who do not score enough goals to convert that into wins and based on their goals scored this season, that is exactly what it pans out to be. Now, Tottenham have won three of their last four and I think Antonio Conte is starting to get somewhere with the team. Spurs are not the finished article just yet though and I think the Italian has a long way to go to get Spurs back to where they should be, but I think that they are good enough and have enough attacking quality to go to the south coast and land the win here.

Burnley v West Ham – Away Win

Burnley have won just one game this season but they have proven to be stubborn opponents for most teams as they have drawn half of their 14 games. However, they are facing a West Ham side that will be full of confidence after that win over Chelsea last weekend and who remain in fourth place in the league table. David Moyes has his team playing well and with confidence and though they have lost some key players through injury of late, Cresswell and Ogbonna in particular, I still feel the Hammers have enough quality going forward to snatch a narrow win in this game.

Crystal Palace v Everton – Draw

This is a tough one to call and I think momentum is a key word here. Palace come into this game on the back of three straight defeats and they are without a win in four. However. Everton had been on a long run of games without a win before Monday night however Demarai Gray’s late winner on the back of a much improved second half display from Rafa Benitez’s team handed Everton a massive three points. I can see them taking a bit of confidence from that into this game and with Palace not in the best of form, I can see both sides thinking that while a win would be great, not losing is more important and as such I think a 0-0 or 1-1 draw is the most likely outcome here.
