Premier League Accumulator – Sunday 12th May

It’s go big or go home in final weekend of the Premier League. I’ll be honest andAcca Tips say that I haven’t had quite as many accumulator winners this season as I would have liked and having so many near misses does grind you down a little, so rather than pick the safe bets. I’ve gone a bit more outlandish this weekend to hopefully finish the season with a bang!

Of course, it is the last round of fixtures in the Premier League and there is still much to play for at the top of the table with Manchester City needing to win at Brighton in order to claim the title for the second year in a row. Liverpool face Wolves at home knowing only a win and a slip up for City will be enough for them to claim the title, but that looks a somewhat forlorn hope given the form City are in.

Wolves meanwhile will have plenty to say in that game as they have been a persistent problem for the top six sides this season and they are one of just seven sides to have beaten Liverpool in any competition this season, when they knocked the Reds out of the FA Cup back in January.

With so much emotion riding on those two games, I am going to steer well clear of them both (also because the odds on each are not that great either) and instead I am focusing on four games where I feel not only are the odds very good, but the chances of a decent return on the four results is excellent.

Let’s hope this final week accumulator lands us a monster win to send us off happy into the post season. Keep your eyes peeled though for some more acca bets over the next few weeks involving playoff games and the major cup finals we have coming up, as well as some action from leagues across Europe.

Bet Analysis: 12th May

Burnley v Arsenal  – Home Win

With Arsenal playing in the Europa League, away from home, on Thursday night, they are not going to have a huge amount of time to get ready for this game and that combined with their current away form, which is dreadful, means that I fear the Gunners could well struggle here against a Burnley side who have once again found their mojo under Shaun Dyche. The Burnley boss does a fantastic job with his team and is one of the most underrated managers in the Premier League and I think he will want to finish the season in style here with a win against a top six opponent at home and I think they have every chance of achieving just that.

Fulham v Newcastle United – Away Win

Scott Parker had inspired Fulham to three wins in a row a couple of weeks ago but a loss last week ended that run and they now face a Newcastle side who have once again produced big performances when it matters to move themselves out of danger at the foot of the table. There’s much debate about Rafa Benitez’s future at the club and there’s no doubt the Toon Army want him to stay, but it seems Rafa wants some promises about investment in the club from owner Mike Ashley that are as yet not forthcoming. That won’t influence proceedings here, but may well play out over the end of season. Even so, I can’t see there being too many goals in this one and I feel Newcastle’s form on the road is such that they could just about sneak the win here against a leaky Fulham defence.

Leicester City v Chelsea – Home Win

Chelsea come into this game having played a game late on Thursday night in the Europa League and that means Mauricio Sarri may elect to rest a couple of players here, especially if they are in the final of that competition and with a top four spot already secured in the Premier League. Leicester’s recent form is very good and they were unlucky not to get something away to Manchester City on Monday night. They have already beaten Chelsea on the road this season thanks to a solitary Jamie Vardy strike at Stamford Bridge and I think with their home form being so strong at the moment, and Chelsea perhaps having their focus elsewhere, this is a game that the home side could win.

Tottenham Hotspur v Everton – Home Win

Will Tottenham have recovered from the huge emotion of their Champions League Semifinal victory over Ajax in midweek? That stunning comeback will have given Spurs huge confidence heading into this fixture, something needed after a very poor run of results, but it will also have really drained the players to have put in so much effort, especially in that amazing second half. Everton had a weeks rest ahead of this game and Marco Silva’s men are in very good form at this late point in the season. Their record though against Tottenham in recent years is absolutely awful and they were humiliated at Goodison Park earlier in the season when Spurs won 6-2. I don’t think Spurs will quite manage a score like that here, but I think, despite the drain of Wednesday night, they should do just enough to land the victory.
