Premier League Matchday 4 Acca – 11th & 12th September

No luck with last week’s international accumulator, but in truth I am not surprised as these first sets of international games are rather like early season games. Form and fitness is not really established and as a result you can get some rather odd results.

The good news though is that this week we are back with the Premier League and a full set of fixtures across Matchday 4 which takes place from Saturday through to Monday night.

Our focus though will be on the games taking place on Saturday and Sunday, and it is going to be interesting to see how the teams playing in Europe line up in these games, as next week we see the three different European competitions start with the Group Stages in each.

We have already landed a lovely £250+ win this season already and I am confident that with a bit of luck we can add to that lovely sum. If I can land another of roughly the same amount then that will guarantee a nice profit on the season after just the first few weeks. Which is what I like to see!

This weekend sees Cristiano Ronaldo making his return at Manchester United as they take on Newcastle United at Old Trafford. It is going to be interesting to see how the 36-year-old readapts to life in the Premier League.

Other key games this weekend see Arsenal face Norwich City with both sides seeking their first points of the new season, while Spurs travel to Crystal Palace aiming for the win that will keep them top of the table. We also see Leicester City face Manchester City at the King Power.

Then on Sunday, Leeds United face Liverpool at Elland Road and Monday night’s game sees Everton take on Burnley at Goodison Park.

Here’s my tips for this weekend’s EPL action.

Bet Analysis: Saturday 11th September

Crystal Palace v Tottenham – Away Win

Patrick Vieira has seen a bit of fight from his Crystal Palace in the last couple of games picking up a point in each, but once again it appears that the Eagles are lacking a real presence in front of goal and that goalscoring is going to be their achilles heel once again this season. Tottenham have started the season very well, despite the Harry Kane issues that preceded it, but with the England captain committed to the club for the current season at least, they have notched up three wins on the bounce to lead the table after three games. I think they will make it four here in a game that has traditionally been close and which has seen a number of 1-0 wins for the away team over the last decade or so. I think that may well be the case again here.

Brentford v Brighton – Home Win

I have been so impressed with Brentford since they started the season with the win over Arsenal. I have expected them to stumble after that first win but they have gone on to pick up two draws and are still unbeaten in the EPL so far. Brighton also started well but lost their last home game to Everton and I think they may also find this adventurous Brentford side a tough one to beat. Thomas Frank has his side playing some very attractive football to watch and I think they are going to be a refreshing addition to the Premier League this season and if they can win these crunch home games, they stand a real chance of defying the odds and staying up. I think they may do enough to land the win here.

Southampton v West Ham – Draw

I was very tempted to go with the West Ham win here given the excellent form that David Moyes team have shown over the end of last season and start of this. But I think Southampton are now starting to show a bit of grit too. A draw at home with Man Utd was a good result, as was their late draw snatched away at Newcastle last time out. I think the Hammers are the better team but I think at home, Southampton should do enough for the draw.

Bet Analysis: Sunday 12th September

Leeds United v Liverpool – Away Win

Last season this game finished in a 1-1 draw, with Liverpool winning 4-3 at Anfield on the opening day of the season. This time around, I think Leeds are perhaps not in as good a shape as they were last season while I also feel Liverpool are looking much more like the team that were last Champions the season before last. I do feel Leeds will score a goal here, but they don’t have a great record against Liverpool at home (their last win was in 2000) and I think Liverpool have enough attacking talent to secure an away win here.
