Saturday’s EPL Acca – Saturday 20th April

I can’t believe how unfortunate we have been in the last couple of AccaAccumulator Tip Nation tips. Excluding Thursday’s Europa League ties, which have not yet been played, I have hit three out of four results bang on the money, almost down to the exact scoreline, in at least three of my most recent tips.

Unfortunately, despite getting 9/12 predictions correct, I have not yet managed to get all four in one acca and as such, I am so frustrated it is beyond belief!

However, after a sticky spell, I am more than happy to see that my judgement is far more like I would expect and I am hoping that this weekend in the Premier League, this will result in me getting the four results in one selection that I feel I am owed after so many near misses this season.

There’s some big games too on Saturday, none moreso than Manchester City’s clash with Tottenham at lunchtime, coming just a few days after their epic 4-3 encounter at the Etihad in the Champions League. City will want revenge for losing out to Spurs on away goals in the tournament but Spurs proved they are more than capable of getting goals against City which will be a worry for them.

Other big games include West Ham and Leicester clashing at the London Stadium, Wolves taking on relegation threatened Brighton at Molineux while two sides looking likely to avoid the drop, Newcastle and Southampton, clash at St James Park looking for a win which will likely confirm their status in the Premier League next season for certain.

Here’s my tips for my Saturday EPL fourfold.

Bet Analysis: Saturday 20th April

Man City v Tottenham – Home Win

After the drama of these two teams’ Champions League clash in midweek, which was arguably the most dramatic game I have seen in many a year, Manchester City come into this game knowing their hopes of winning a quadruple are over. City will no doubt be fired up for this game but Spurs showed on Wednesday night that they are more than capable of finding holes in this City defence and as such, this is a game, while not likely to be as high scoring or as dramatic as Wednesday, where I can see both teams scoring. That said, I feel City will be extra-inspired to gain a victory here after Wednesday evening’s events and their home crowd will likely be demanding a win. As such, I can’t see City losing this game and I am backing them to land another narrow win here.

Bournemouth v Fulham – Home Win

Both these sides come into this game on the back of very good wins. Bournemouth thanks to a 5-0 victory over Brighton last weekend which ensured their safety for next season (not that it ever was a real doubt) and Fulham, who despite relegation, produced a fine display to beat an in-form Everton side 2-0 at Craven Cottage. However, I think this is a game the Cherries will fancy their chances at as Fulham do concede a lot of goals, especially on the road and after bagging five at Brighton, it is clear Bournemouth’s strikers are bang in form. They should do the damage here to ensure it is a home win.

West Ham v Leicester City – Draw

West Ham played very well at Old Trafford last week but were unrewarded with Manchester United earning a somewhat fortunate victory in that game. They now return home to face a Leicester City side who were beaten last week but who have, generally, looked much sharper under Brendan Rogers. It is clear the ex-Celtic boss has already started to impress on his team a certain style of play and I think the Foxes will be keen to bounce back from that disappointing loss last week to Newcastle away at a West Ham side whose home form has been somewhat up and down of late. I can’t see West Ham losing this game though, so I feel a draw is the most likely outcome.

Newcastle v Southampton – Draw

When these two teams met at St Mary’s earlier in the season, both were struggling and they played out a somewhat drab 0-0 draw. Since then, I feel both teams fortunes have improved for the better considerably and while they are still prone to the occasional defeat, it tends to be the exception rather than the rule. Newcastle have been very solid at home in recent times but Southampton have been dogged and determined away from home and they look a side much more difficult to beat nowadays. I think both sides will score in this game on Saturday evening, but I feel neither has quite enough to snatch the win here. As such, I am backing an entertaining scoring draw. most likely 1-1.
