Sunday’s Football Acca Tip – 16th September

Over the last few Sunday’s, apart from last weekend when it was all the Internationals, we have focused on the Premier League games taking place on those days and usually we have been able to put three together into a treble bet.

This weekend, there are just two Premier League games and as such, I think it is wisest to broaden my scope to include games from some other top European leagues, hence this week we have two fixtures from La Liga to make up a fourfold bet.

I’ve been a little disappointed at how my Sunday acca’s have gone so far this season, I need to sharpen up and I am hoping that this quartet of selections will help me put together a very nice return on my stake.

It’s good to know that we have a few weekends of Premier League action to enjoy before the next international break, so let’s hope we can celebrate that with a decent showing here.

Here’s my tips for four games taking place on Sunday.

Bet Analysis: Sunday 16th September

Wolves v Burnley- Home Win

After draws with Everton and Manchester City at home, plus a win away to West Ham, Wolves are sitting pretty in mid table in the Premier League and they’ll be confident of taking three points here against a Burnley side that has just one point to its name and is shipping goals at an alarming rate. Sean Dyche’s team have had the added distraction of the Europa League early in the season but having been eliminated from that tournament, they will be keen to get their League form right. The only problem is, I cannot see them doing that against a Wolves team that is rightly flying at the moment and which has some very talented players indeed. I’m backing the home team to get a solid win here and to push them further up the Premier League table.

Espanyol v Levante – Home Win

Both these teams have started the La Liga season well and sit in the top seven, Levante fourth, Espanyol 7th but both with four points. The home side don’t tend to score too many goals (just four in their three games) but at home they are a formidable outfit and have beaten Valencia at home this season. Levante are not as strong as Valencia and although they have started well, I do think they will eventually drop down the table and as such, I am backing Espanyol to claim the win here, though I think it will be by a relatively narrow scoreline.

Everton v West Ham – Home Win

Both these teams will have disappointed their home fans in their last game, Everton with a 1-1 draw with Huddersfield is very much a two-points dropped scenario, rather than one gained. Similarly, West Ham’s 1-0 defeat to Wolves thanks to a late goal will have really drained their fans and manager. The Hammers are showing promise but defensive errors at crucial times are killing them and they need to stop the flow of goals going in their goal, in order to give themselves a chance of that first win of the season. The problem is, against this Everton side, I cannot see that happening as I think the Toffee’s look a much strong, better organised and more dangerous attacking unit this season. I am backing them to bounce back from that Huddersfield disappointment with a win here.

Leganes v Villarreal – Draw

Both these teams sit in the relegation spots after three games, which may be expected for Leganes, but is poor from Villarreal, a team that has some very talented players. Leganes problem has been conceding goals, Villarreal’s has been scoring them and when that happens I usually feel a 1-0 home win is the way to go. However, with some quality players in their team, I think Villarreal will get going here and will secure a point from the game, which I don’t think Leganes will be to disappointed with either given their relatively poor start to the season too.
