Football Acca Tip: Sun 11th February

This Sunday I am going to changes things slightly for my accumulator bet today as I am going to focus solely on the three Premier League games taking place today between Bournemouth and Huddersfield, Newcastle and Man Utd and lastly between Southampton and Liverpool.

The reason I’ve done this is that I want to get back to winning ways and while introducing games from other leagues helps me make this a fourfold accumulator, which means better odds, the problem with that is that often these games can scupper the acca and I want to focus more on the leagues I am more familiar with to try and land more wins, even if that means slightly smaller odds than usual.

There’s also the fact that this coming week sees the return of the Champions League and Europa League after the Christmas break with four Champions League Round of 16 games taking place across Tuesday and Wednesday plus all the Round of 32 first legs in the Europa League, which means that I can use these games in midweek to try and bolster an profits from the weekend.

So without any further ado, let’s take a closer look at my predictions for this Sunday’s trio of Premier League matches.

Bet Analysis: Sunday 11th February

Huddersfield Town v Bournemouth – Away Win – After making a decent start to the season and for a long time being ensconced in mid-table, Huddersfield Town’s recent miserable Premier League form has seen them drop down the table into 19th position and the pressure is on manager David Wagner to avoid their stay in the Premier League being a very short one. They face a Bournemouth side at arguably the worst time as Eddie Howe’s men have lost just one of their last six and have recorded wins over Stoke City and Chelsea in their past two games. The Cherries aren’t great on the road, but Huddersfield’s form at the moment is so poor and they clearly lack confidence that I am going to go against what the stats suggest, which is a draw, and instead back the visitors to come away with another win here to cement their place in mid-table more securely.

Newcastle United v Manchester United – Away Win – Manchester United lost their last away game to Tottenham but followed that up with a solid 2-0 win over Huddersfield Town last weekend to expand their lead in second place to five points ahead of Liverpool. The Red Devils now face a Newcastle United side who have not won in five games but who have drawn each of their last two and three of their last five. Rafa Benitez men are set up to be resolute defensively but they have struggled for goals all season long and it is hard to see a way that they can get a result here against what has been the best defence in the Premier League this season. As such, the only real prospect of a result here that I can see is a relatively comfortable win for Manchester United.

Southampton v Liverpool – Away Win – Southampton’s recent improvement in form has seen them go six games without defeat and they take on a Liverpool side that have won just one of their last four games, that away at Huddersfield. The Reds may feel aggrieved at how they dropped two points at home to Tottenham last weekend, with the way the officials ran the game, but in truth Tottenham fully deserved at least a point from that match. Southampton can be very tough to beat at home, but at times, they can also be a little predictable and I think the Reds pace in attack matches up well against the Saints back line. I envisage a free-flowing game here and rather than a draw, I am going to back the visitors to snatch a late win here.
