Sunday’s Premier League Acca Tips -2nd December
This Sunday is Derby Sunday in the Premier League with the three matches taking place throughout the day all being some of the biggest derby matches in the division.
The action starts in London with two games taking place in the capital. First up there is the clash between Fulham and Chelsea at Stamford Bridge with Mauricio Sarri’s men looking to bounce back from last weeks disappointing performance in their 3-1 defeat at Spurs.
Fulham meanwhile got back to winning ways in Claudio Ranieri’s first game in charge, a 3-2 home win over Southampton which will fortify them ahead of the short trip across London.
Then following on from this game it is the North London derby as Arsenal welcome Tottenham to the Emirates Stadium. Both team are on long unbeaten runs in the Premier League, with Spurs having won all of their last five games and with both teams chasing Manchester City and Liverpool at the top of the table, it promises to be an exciting clash.
Finally, we head north for the final game of the weekend as Liverpool host Everton at Anfield in what is sure to be a fiery Merseyside derby. The Reds, who come into the game after a midweek trip to face Paris St Germain, will be hoping to secure another win over their great rivals to keep up the pace with Manchester City at the top of the table, while a win for Everton would not only dent Liverpool’s title hopes, but be a huge boost for their season so far under Marco Silva.
Here’s my trio of tips for these three games this weekend in this nice little treble bet.
Sunday’s Premier League Accumulator Tip – 1/12/2018
Both of these teams come into this game on the back of a somewhat unusual result, for Chelsea that being their 3-1 defeat to Tottenham last weekend, their first Premier League defeat of the season and for Fulham it was only their second victory of the season as they beat Southampton 3-2 at Craven Cottage in Claudio Ranieri’s first game in charge. The Tinkerman now heads back to one of his former clubs in the hope of further reviving Fulham’s campaign. However, against Chelsea I can’t see that happening. The Blues will be stung by that defeat last week and in particular the manner of it, and they will want to make a statement with a return to form here as otherwise Liverpool and Manchester City could well start to open up a gap at the top of the table. That said, I am expecting a straightforward Chelsea win in this one to get them back to winning ways.
Arsenal v Tottenham – Draw
The North London derby promises to be an absolute cracker this afternoon and in my view, is the pick of the three games. Arsenal are unbeaten in the Premier League since losing to Man City and Chelsea on the opening two weeks of the season, Spurs have won all of their last five (ahead of their midweek Champions League clash with Inter) and after their 3-1 win over Chelsea last weekend, they will be confident they could end Arsenal’s unbeaten run too. That said, the Gunners are looking a much more confident side now, especially defensively, than they were earlier in the season, but I just don’t feel the balance is quite right for them yet. I feel Spurs are the better team, but with Arsenal at home I cannot back the visitors to land another big London derby win here and instead I am going for the draw, with 1-1 or 2-2 the most likely results.
Liverpool v Everton – Home Win
Last season Everton earned a draw at Anfield in the league, just a few days after losing in the FA Cup, the Toffees are in a good run of form at the moment under Marco Silva and have moved into sixth spot in the table and they are not flattered by that position. Liverpool however are unbeaten but they come into this game after a difficult trip to Paris in midweek for a crucial Champions League game and it will be interesting to see how much Jurgen Klopp rotates his squad in what is a very busy part of the season for the Reds. This will be another close Merseyside derby and whoever keeps their heads may come out on top, but with home advantage, I am backing the Reds to just about snatch the victory here to keep them apace with Manchester City at the top of the table.
