Thursday’s Acca Tips: 24th October 2019

We have had some positive results in the Europa League over the years and I think that this selection of tips for the games coming up this week looks like it has a very good chance of landing us a decent accumulator win.

Once again, I have focused on the British sides taking part in the tournament this week, with the notable exception of Rangers who face an inordinately tricky task away to FC Porto, who are very short odds to beat the Glasgow side, so I have focused on the other Glasgow giant, Celtic as well as the away games for Man Utd and Wolves and Arsenal’s home game against Vitoria Guimares.

Like I said, I have hit a winner just a few weeks back with my accumulator tips and I am in good form in general and I would like to add another win to that one as soon as possible. Hopefully this selection of Europa League games on Thursday will do precisely that.

Bet Analysis: Thursday 24th October – 5.55pm

Partizan Belgrade v Man Utd – Draw

Manchester United fans will be hoping the return from injury of a number of key first team players may help turn around their dismal away form, which has seen them not win a game since their victory over PSG on the road in the spring. A 0-0 draw against Alkmaar the last time out in this competition was hardly the most inspiring game against limited quality Dutch opposition and they face a better team here in Partizan Belgrade who have not lost a home UEFA tie in their last 11 matches. However, the return from injury of the likes of Martial, Pogba and Lindelof will be really beneficial to United and I can see them being able to grind out a hard fought point in Belgrade in a city that has been a tough place for English teams to pick up points in recent times.

Slovan Bratislava v Wolves – Away Win

Having earned a brilliant win away to Besiktas last time out, Wolves will be full of confidence heading into this game, especially seeing as their form in the Premier League has also picked up over the last few weeks too. Slovan Bratislava though are no mugs and in five games at home to English teams, they have won two and drawn one, losing the other two, so they are not going to be a pushover by any means. However, I feel with Wolves confidence likely to be sky high and their defensive ability excellent, I can see Wolves stifling the home team and earning another valuable three points on the road here, which will put them in a great position in the group.

Bet Analysis: Thursday 24th October – 8pm

Arsenal v Vitoria Guimares – Home Win

The Gunners were rampant winners over Standard Liege in their last home game in this tournament and truth be told, I am expecting a similar kind of performance and scorelint in this game against a Guimares side who I feel are an even poorer side than the Belgian outfit. The key for Arsenal will be scoring early and if they can, then I can see them racking up another very heavy win, but if Vitoria can keep them out then it may take a concerted effort in the second half to secure the win. Either way, I can’t see any other result than a win for the Gunners in this one.

Celtic v Lazio – Home Win

Both Glasgow giants face a tough game against top quality European opposition this week but I think Celtic’s home game with Lazio offers the best odds and the best chance of a home win for the Scots. Lazio are not the best travellers in Europe and they lost once on the road already this season to Cluj. This will also be their first ever trip to Scotland to play a UEFA competition tie and Parkhead’s atmosphere will certainly have them reeling. Celtic’s home form in Europe has been generally better this season without being as convincing as they should be. It will require a massive effort, but I do believe Celtic can spring something of an upset here and claim the win.
