Weekend Acca Tips: 23rd & 24th November
It’s been a couple of weeks since our last Acca Nations tips article and to be honest, we were a bit off the pace with that set of tips. However, we’ve had a winner recently and we’ve been so close on a number of other occasions that I feel another decent winner is around the corner.
Hopefully it will come this coming weekend with this selection of games from the Premier League across Saturday and Sunday. We now have a nice run of international break-free football up until March 2020 and that means we can really look forward to a large chunk of the season being played without interruption.
The build up to the hectic festive season gets underway from now with the penultimate Saturday in November featuring some big games, none moreso than Manchester City’s home game with Chelsea. A must win game for both teams if they are hoping to keep pace with Liverpool at the top of the table.
Our game on Sunday sees 5th take on 7th with Sheffield United welcoming Manchester United to Bramhall Lane in what should be an intriguing clash. As you can see, I think this weekend’s very balanced set of games should produce some money spinning draws. Let’s hope this batch of selections are on the money!
Premier League Accumulator – 23rd & 24th November 2019
It is fair to say that the recent form of both these teams leaves a lot to be desired and makes this a devilishly difficult game to predict. I looked at recent history between the teams and that didn’t offer much help either as the last 16 matches has seen seven wins apiece and two draws! Spurs have not won away in the EPL since January but West Ham’s form at the moment has seen them plummeting down the table after a relatively decent start. If any of these sides had a semblance of form, then I would be picking them for the win, but I just feel that the lack of confidence on both sides and the fact this is a London derby, make this a game that is going to be close to predict. I can see goals in this one, but my gut feeling is that they will be shared equally between the teams.
Bournemouth v Wolves – Draw
Two sides who will be relatively happy with the start they have made to lie in the top half just above the mid-table position. Bournemouth have beaten the likes of Everton and Manchester United at home this season, so Wolves should not worry them unduly and while Wolves have landed just three wins, they have lost fewer games (two) than Manchester City (three). Wolves have proved somewhat difficult to shake off for even the top teams and while I can’t quite see Wolves having that extra quality in attack to claim the win here, I do feel that they will stay in this game and take a point from a long trip to the south coast.
Man City v Chelsea – Home Win
The big game of the day comes at the Etihad with Manchester City, who have lost two of their last five, facing the team directly above them in the league table. City won this game 6-0 last season but I can’t see a repeat of that with the home side seeing a number of key men injured and Bernardo Silva suspended. Chelsea also are, I feel, in a much stronger position this season than they were last in the league and I feel Frank Lampard’s young side can cause City problems on the counter attack. I predict this game will be much closer than last season, but I just feel with City desperate for the points to keep tracking Liverpool, they will do just enough to land the win.
Bet Analysis: Sunday 24th November
Sheffield United v Manchester United – Draw
I doubt many punters would have seen this game between two United’s placed 5th and 7th in the league and for the top team to be Sheffield United. The Blades defence has been the cornerstone of their success in the Premier League this season and that is going to be the key here. If the Blades can keep United’s forwards quiet, as plenty of teams have done this season, then they could take something from this game. The Red Devils though have won four of their last five, but were beaten away from home last time out by Bournemouth. Their away record of late is extremely poor and no team has found it easy at Bramhall Lane this season. As such, I think a draw, possibly a 0-0, is the most likely outcome.
