Weekend EPL Acca – 7th & 8th November 2020
Once again, last week we saw Saturday’s fixtures all come in very nicely indeed, but we were let down once again by our Sunday selections. I am pretty certain that this has happened just a few weeks back too and while I made a profit elsewhere on those Saturday winners in particular, I still wanted that elusive acca to land.
This week, I am determined to break the Sunday hoodoo and it just so happens that the games I have picked this week see one from Saturday’s four games and three from Sunday’s selection of four games. Whatsmore, this is one of the best looking of all the accas I have put together this season and I reckon it is in with a real chance.
It is a big weekend for games as the Merseyside and Manchester Giants clash with Manchester United facing Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday, followed by Manchester City hosting Liverpool at the Etihad on Sunday afternoon. Both these games should be crackers for different reasons and as you would expect, both feature in my selections for the weekend.
We’ve also thrown into the mix the Midlands clash between Leicester City and Wolves, two of the teams in great form in the Premier League at the minute, as well as Arsenal’s intriguing clash with Aston Villa, who have now lost their last two on the bounce and conceded six goals, without scoring any in the process.
Let’s take a look at the tips I have put together for each of those four games.
The first game on Saturday is a big one at Goodison Park as two teams badly in need of a win clash. United’s away form has not been an issue for them this season, it is their home form domestically that has been awful and an Everton side without a win in their last three games now, will be well aware of that. Another defeat here for the Toffees would see them likely drop into mid-table, which would not be great after such a good start. United though do seem to be a team better adapted to playing on the counter on the road and I think they have the players to cause Everton some real problems here and while the Toffees will come out of this mini slump, I think it will be Manchester United that celebrate a vital three points here on Saturday.
Bet Analysis: Sunday 8th November
Leicester City v Wolves – Home Win
After a stunning win over Leeds United on Monday night, Leicester head into their Midlands clash with Wolves second in the table and in very good spirits. Wolves too have recovered from a slow start to move up the table and they lie in sixth position in the table only goal difference separating them from Everton and Southampton above them. This looks like being a very tight affair and I can’t see too many goals being scored in this game, but I think with home advantage, the Foxes should do just enough to come out on top here.
Manchester City v Liverpool – Home Win
Last season, Manchester City humbled the Champions 4-0 at the Etihad and City would love to inflict similar damage on the league leaders once again here this weekend. City though do have issues with injuries in attack that has been a source of concern for them this season, but at the same time, Liverpool’s defensive injuries have been a huge blow for them too. Those two factors make this game a really hard one to decide on but I think given the importance of the game, City’s need for the points and that makeweight Liverpool back line, that is already the worst in the Premier League, I think City will snatch the win here.
Arsenal v Aston Villa – Home Win
After last week’s win away to Manchester United, Arsenal fans will be delighted to see their team win away at a ‘big six’ team for the first time in what must seem like a lifetime. They now face a tricky game against an Aston Villa side that have lost their last two games by a 3-0 scoreline and who are in danger of undoing what was an extraordinary start to the season for them. Dean Smith’s men need a result to get some of that confidence back but in truth, the Emirates is not a place to try and go and pick up a result against an Arsenal side that are slowly being moulded by Mikel Arteta into a very decent side. I think this will be closer than many expect but I do think Arsenal will take the win.
