Weekend EPL Acca Tip – 30th & 31st October

I’m hoping that my halloween horror came last week, while my Premier League tips saw two selections right, I was much closer in the Europa League, with three results coming up and then PSV Eindhoven let me down conceding a late winner to AS Monaco to mean that that leg let me down.

Still, that is how Acca betting goes and the flip side of that is that you only need one or two wins over the course of the season and if you can land them, then you are guaranteed a profit. I’ve already banked one this season and I feel another win is not too far away.

This weekend is Week 10 of the Premier League season and we are seeing the first signs of the top three teams starting to edge away from the rest. Chelsea (who beat Norwich 7-0), Liverpool (who crushed Man Utd 5-0 at Old Trafford) and Man City (who beat Brighton 4-1 on the road) now look to be setting a pace that others are struggling to keep up with.

That means there are some hugely interesting games this weekend at the top but also at the bottom of the table. Sixth placed Spurs host a Manchester United side in desperate need of some form of response after their drubbing at home to Liverpool, while Leeds can put themselves clear of the drop zone if they can earn a win at Norwich.

The first game on Saturday is also a very big game as two form teams, Leicester City and Arsenal clash in what should be a very entertaining game at the King Power, with the winner likely to move into contention for at least the European places.

We also have Newcastle taking on Chelsea at home after picking up a good point on the road at Crystal Palace. Can they shock the EPL with a win over the top team?

Here’s my selection for the games this weekend in the EPL.

Bet Analysis: Saturday 30th October

Newcastle United v Chelsea – Away Win

After thumping seven past Norwich without reply, and with Romelu Lukaku injured, Chelsea travel to another team without a Premier League win this season in Newcastle United. The Magpies sacked Steve Bruce ahead of last week’s game at Crystal Palace, but emerged with a creditable 1-1 draw. However, this does look like being a much tougher task against one of the form teams in the Premier League at the moment, with four wins from their last four game keeping them top of the table. Newcastle are going to need a huge effort to get something from this game and in truth, I feel it is probably beyond them. I am backing Chelsea to land the away win here.

Tottenham Hotspur v Manchester United – Home Win

Last October, Tottenham crushed Manchester United 6-1 at Old Trafford, but last week it was Liverpool who inflicted a heavy defeat on the Red Devils with their 5-0 win. United need a response and with the pressure on manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, he has a very tough run of games to come with Spurs today. Atalanta away in midweek and then Man City at home next weekend. Spurs come into the game on the back of  a narrow defeat to West Ham last week, but their home form is pretty strong, while it is hard to see United’s defensive frailties being sorted by this game. As such, I am backing Harry Kane and company to grab a win here.

Bet Analysis: Sunday 24th October

Norwich City v Leeds United – Away Win

Leeds United have won just once this season, but that is one more than Norwich have managed and after the Canaries were drubbed 7-0 by Chelsea last weekend, it is hard to see them bouncing back here and recording a win. Leeds form has been poor but Marcelo Bielsa has remained steadfast in his belief of how to play the game. Good teams have figured out how to play against Leeds but Norwich are not a good team and as such, I feel that the visitors will earn their second win of the season.

Aston Villa v West Ham United – Away Win

Out of the teams chasing the top three, West Ham have arguably been the most consistent since the start of 2021. David Moyes men finished very strongly last season and have started this season very well too to lie fourth in the table. Astom Villa’s form at the moment is pretty poor with three defeats in a row seeing the Villains drop down to 13th place in the table. They are very much missing Jack Grealish’s influence and while they are still tough to beat, I feel West Ham have the quality and consistency to get the job done here and claim an important away win.
