Deposit & Withdraw – How It Works

How do I deposit with my card?

DepositFunding your account with a Visa card is very simple. All you will need is you card and the username and password you created at your bookmaker of choice.

Step 1: The first step is to log into your sports betting account using your username and password. Once there you need to visit the section of the site dealing with your account and then click on the ‘Deposit’ option (or similar).

Step 2: In this section, you will be asked to specify what kind of payment method you are going to use to fund your account. If Visa is not specifically listed by name, then you can use the option for credit cards or debit cards.

Step 3: All you then need to do to add funds is select how much you want to add to your account and then enter in your card details; the long number across the front of the card, the expiry date and the security code on the reverse of the card. Some sites may also ask for the start date of the card if it is available.

Step 4: Once you have entered this information in, click on the ‘Deposit’ button and your transaction will start. If you are part of the Verified by Visa fraud prevention network, then you will be asked to now input letters from your password to protect against fraud.

Success: Once this is completed, your transaction will progress and provided funds are available, your request will be accepted and the funds added into your betting account instantaneously.

So what are you waiting for? Choose one of the top rated Visa accepted betting sites listed above and get going.

How do I withdraw back to my card?

WithdrawIf you have played on a site and have won some cash and would like to transfer that money back into your bank account, then the first thing to note is that you will need to have used the same card to make a deposit previously, to prevent money laundering between accounts.

If you have not yet used your Visa card to deposit with the site, then you will likely not be able to withdraw funds to the card until you do so.

You will NOT bet able to withdraw back to a Visa credit card but a debit card works fine. If you used your credit card to deposit (that’s not linked directly to you bank account) you’ll need to use a different method.

If your money can be withdrawn and is not subject to any caveats preventing you withdrawing the cash (bonus funds or wagering requirements not met for example), you can simply enter how much of the available balance you want to withdraw to your card. Most sites have a minimum amount of money you can withdrawn in a single transaction (£10 is a popular amount as a minimum withdrawal).

Once you have entered how much you want to withdraw from your balance and confirmed your card details, you can click on the ‘Withdraw’ button and the transaction will commence.

However, the amount of time it takes for this to be processed will vary from operator to operator. In most cases, expect the withdrawal to your Visa card to take between two and five working days to process.

If the transaction completes successfully, you will be notified and the money will be added back onto your Visa card.

Are there any fees associated with using a Visa Credit Card when used for betting?

Generally, reputable bookmakers will not make any charges to customers when they either make a deposit to their account via Visa, or make a withdrawal.

There are also generally no fees payable if your deposit or withdrawal is declined for any reason.

Alternatives to Visa

As a form of credit card to use for online gambling, the main alternative to Visa is Mastercard. This is simply the other major brand of credit card used most widely across the world and it functions in exactly the same way as a Visa card would when used on a sports betting site.

Indeed, so similar are Visa and Mastercard, that many sites simply accept payments from either source through their “credit card payment” options, rather than stating which type of card you are using (although when making a payment, you may be asked to identify whether your card is a Visa or Mastercard).

When it comes to alternatives to a Visa Debit card then the main other option is Maestro but obviously it’ll depend on what your bank issues, you don’t really have a choice in the type of debit card you get.

Remember: this page only deals with the best Visa betting sites, use the ‘Deposit’ menu at the top of the page to see more options.

About Visa

The modern Visa card can trace its roots back to 1958, when the Bank of America launched BankAmericard, the first ‘credit card’ that offered customers, predominantly middle-class Americans and businesses, the chance to pay for items without using cash.

Over time the use of credit cards became increasingly popular and more widely available both domestically and internationally and in 1976, BankAmericard was rebranded as Visa, simply because the name Visa translates across a far wider variety of languages.

The company experienced consistent growth until 2007, when Visa formed a global corporation, while a separate branch of the company, Visa Europe, remained owned by shareholders.

By the year 2000, Visa had sent out a billion credit cards to customers in its history and since then the company has invested lots of time and money into developing simple and secure ways to pay for items online, both via your laptop and desktop, as well as your mobile and tablet. This culminated in the 2014 release of Visa Checkout.
