Premier League Weekend Tips – 15th & 16th October

Boom! That’s how you do it!

Last week we landed our Champions League accumulator, turning a £10 bet into a fantastic return of £286.00! That puts us miles into profit this season and comes after a few weeks of near misses!

So, I wasn’t too upset when the Europa League tips didn’t come in on Thursday but once again, we landed 50% of the results correctly in those games.

However one win always makes you hungrier for the next one and so I am hopeful that this weekend, we can land another win, this time in the Premier League as we have a full weekend of action, albeit with one game, Brighton v Brentford taking place on Friday night.

So that leaves us with nine games on Saturday and Sunday this week and there is also another round of Premier League games in midweek too, so join us Tuesday for the latest tips for those games too!

This weekend we have some cracking games to enjoy including Tottenham v Everton, Manchester United v Newcastle United,  Leeds United v Arsenal but there is no doubt that the main focus will be at Anfield where a Liverpool out of sorts in the Premier League welcome a Manchester City team that are unbeaten this season and have Erling Haaland breaking records in attack.

However, both teams had a change of fortunes somewhat in midweek where Manchester City were held away from home by Copenhagen and then Liverpool went to Ibrox and after going a goal down, struck back emphatically to land a 7-1 away win, with Mo Salah scoring the fastest ever Champions League hat-trick (and sealing the acca win for me too!).

It should be a cracking weekend of football action, so let’s now take a look at my tips for this weekend’s games in the EPL.

Bet Analysis: Saturday 15th October

Fulham v Bournemouth – Draw

I know this is one of the less fashionable games in the Premier League this weekend, but it is the one that I feel offers me the best value for the bet I want to make and that is why it makes it into my four selections. Fulham have won two and lost three of their last five and that erratic has had them tumbling down the table a little. Bournemouth are unbeaten in five, drawing three and winning two, and they should be confident coming into this game. Last season, the teams drew 1-1 in both their games in the Championships and in 35 games between the two, there have been 11 draws which is a higher than usual percentage. I also feel the teams are pretty well matched this season too, as the league table suggests. As such, the draw is a very tempting option once again here.

Wolves v Nottingham Forest – Home Win

Wolves have struggled this season, so much so that Bruno Lago lost his job a couple of weeks back and with rumours that Nuno Santo may be tempted into a return to Molineux after 17 months since he left, his arrival could be the tonic that the club needs to move away from the drop zone. Steve Cooper’s Forest picked up a point away to Aston Villa last time out, which moved them off the bottom, but they are struggling and I think the sheer number of signings that they made at the start of this season has led to a lack of cohesion in the team. As such, I think Wolves will land the win here, especially if they announce Santo’s return ahead of the fixture on Saturday.

Bet Analysis: Sunday 16th October

Southampton v West Ham – Away Win

Southampton’s decent run of form has fallen away of late and they now find themselves on the brink of the relegation battle, as do West Ham although their fortunes have improved markedly, with wins in their last four games in all competitions. With Scamacca scoring goals, the Hammers fortunes have changed markedly in the last couple of weeks and I think that the Italian may be too much for a young and somewhat leaky Saints defence to handle. As such, I am backing the Hammers to keep up their good form of late with a win here.

Liverpool v Manchester City – Away Win

Liverpool’s form in the Premier League has been very disappointing this season and in stark contrast to Manchester City’s who now have an extensive lead over their main rivals over the last few years of 13 points. Jurgen Klopp has ruled Liverpool out of the title race and in truth, he’s right given their current league form. City on the other hand look absolutely formidable with Erling Haaland leading their front line and scoring 15 goals in just 9 games in the EPL. With the Norwegian in attack, I feel City are going to be way too strong against an injury hit Liverpool so I am backing them to land the win at Anfield on Sunday.
