Bonus Details

The Unibet free bet, or welcome offer if you prefer, is a potential refund in bonus funds up to a maximum of £40 sports and £10 casino, if your very first bet with the company loses. In order to take part in the offer, a customer needs to create a Unibet account, opt-in to the promotion and deposit at least £10.

The potential bonus then applies to just the customer’s very first Unibet wager and if that wager is successful, then no bonus funds are credited. If the bet loses however, the customer’s account will be credited with a refund of their stake up to a maximum of £40 upon settlement of the bet.

The refund is in the form of bonus funds rather than in real cash, and as such is subject to the wagering requirements explained in full below.

Regardless of the result of your first bet you’ll be awarded the £10 casino bonus.

Wagering Requirements

Before they can withdraw their refunded bonus funds or any winnings that may come from their use, a customer must have wagered an amount equal to at least three times the bonus amount. How this works in practice for different bonus amounts is detailed in the table below:

Bonus Amount: Bets To Withdraw:
£2 £6
£3 £9
£4 £12
£5 £15
£10 £30
£15 £45
£20 £60
£30 £90

Therefore, if a customer initially bets £10 and their bet loses, they will receive bonus funds equalling £10 and would have to wager an amount equal to at least £30 before they can make any withdrawal.

A customer’s bets only count towards those wagering requirements if they are placed at odds of 1.4 or greater and once they are settled. Neither combined live and pre-match bets nor Supertoto or Superscore products count towards the wagering requirements, and a customer can make no withdrawal of any kind until the requirements are fulfilled, the bonus is cancelled or it has expired. If they do attempt a withdrawal in any other circumstances, the bonus funds and any associated winnings will be lost.

The bonus funds expire 60 days after the customer opts in to the promotion and if the requirements are not completed by that point, then the funds and any winnings that have resulted from their use are forfeit.

The casino side of the bonus has a 35x wagering requirement before withdrawal is possible making it very hard to profit from this side of the offer.

Terms and Conditions

As is the case with all such promotions, alongside the general requirements and rules that have been mentioned above, the Unibet welcome bonus is also subject to other terms and conditions. A full and comprehensive list of these is included below:

  • Customers can receive a refund of up to a maximum of £40 in bonus funds, if their first Unibet bet loses.
  • In order to be eligible, they must opt-in and deposit at least £10 to a newly created account.
  • The offer applies only to the customer’s first bet and if that bet wins, no sports bonus funds are credited.
  • If the bet loses, the bonus funds are credited upon settlement of the bet.
  • Before any withdrawal can be made after the crediting of the bonus funds, the customer must wager an amount equal to at least three times the bonus amount.
  • To contribute to the wagering requirements bets must be at odds of 1.4 or greater and settled before the bonus expires.
  • Combined pre-match and live bets cannot contribute to the wagering requirements.
  • Superscore or Supertoto products do not count towards the wagering requirements.
  • Customers cannot make any withdrawal after the bonus is credited, until the wagering requirements are fulfilled, the bonus is cancelled or the bonus expires. If a withdrawal is attempted before this, all bonus funds and associated winnings will be forfeit.
  • The bonus funds expire a total of 7 days after the customer has opted in to the promotion, and if the wagering requirements have not been met, the bonus and any associated winnings will be lost.
  • Only individuals aged over 18 and residing in the UK are eligible for the bonus.
  • The bonus is limited to one per household.
  • Unibet reserve the right to change or cancel the bonus at any time.
  • The company’s general terms and conditions also always apply.
  • Casino bonus is awarded to all customers, regardless of first bet outcome, and has a 35x wagering requirement.

Our Rating

The Unibet new customer offer is something of an oddity, in that it provides a refund of a losing stake as bonus funds, rather than a matched deposit bonus or free bets which are the two most common promotion types on the market.

That very nature of the bonus creates one of the most major issues with it, in that many customers may not receive any benefit at all, as no funds are credited if a punter’s initial bet is a winner. Assuming that a first bet does lose, the maximum bonus amount of £40 is also somewhat on the stingy side when compared with the amounts offered by other promotions and imposing wagering requirements of three times the bonus amount is also a little beyond the pale.

It is that combination of factors therefore, which means that the Unibet welcome bonus is not one of the better ones around and explains why we have rated it at just 55%.

Couple the above with a 35x wagering requirement on the casino side of the bonus and you’ve got a bonus that’s hard to profit from.
