EPL Final Weekend Acca Tip – Sun 22nd May

We’ve now reached the final weekend of the Premier League season and it is time to have a quick review of the year and of course, give you our final set of tips for Matchday 38.

We’ve recorded a healthy profit over the course of the season which is pleasing and means that if we can land another winner this week, then we are only going to increase that level of profit still further.

As is customary on the final weekend of action, all games kick off at the same time at 4pm on Sunday and there is still plenty to be decided across those games.

First up is the Premier League title with Manchester City facing Aston Villa needing a win to claim the title for the fourth time in five years. If they draw or lose, then a win for Liverpool at home to Wolves would give Jurgen Klopp’s team their 2nd league title in three years.

There’s also the race for fourth with Tottenham needing to win or draw at Norwich to claim a win as Arsenal’s goal difference is so much poorer than Spurs that they’d need to beat Everton by 16 goals in order to overtake their London rivals on goal difference should Spurs draw.

There’s also key games for Man Utd and West Ham, with either team able to clinch the final Europa League spot. United need to win to confirm that but a draw or worse for Man Utd and a win for West Ham would see David Moyes team qualify for the Europa League and push United into the Europa Conference league.

Finally, with Everton now safe, it is a battle between Leeds and Burnley to avoid the drop, with Burnley needing to match or better Leeds result in order to stay up.

So let’s take a look now at my final set of tips for the season; thanks for following the action and I’ll see you again when the new season starts in August.

Bet Analysis: Sunday 22nd May

Arsenal v Everton- Home Win

For Everton, the pressure is now off as their come-from-behind 3-2 win over Crystal Palace on Thursday has assured the Toffees of Premier League football next season. However, if that has invoked a sense of relief it is also a chastening point to note that they have spent a great deal more over the last few years than many other teams with no real reward from that. Arsenal can take advantage of Everton’s more relaxed attitude here as the Gunners need to win and also a favour from Norwich to finish fourth and while I can’t see the Canaries helping the Gunners out, I do feel Arsenal will finish the season with a win.

Burnley v Newcastle United – Draw

After the Thursday night games in the Premier League, Burnley moved out of the bottom three on goal difference by virtue of their 1-1 draw away to Aston Villa. They now face Newcastle knowing that if they match or better Leeds United’s result away to Brentford then they will retain their Premier League status. Newcastle’s form has been so much better since the turn of the year and they are not going to be an easy team for Burnley to get the better of. That said, I think Leeds may well struggle at Brentford which means a point may be all that Burnley need to ensure their Premier League status.

Crystal Palace v Manchester United – Draw

Crystal Palace will be disappointed at throwing away a 2-0 half time lead at Everton in midweek. Their 3-2 defeat will have stung with manager Patrick Vieira, but this is a good game for them to finish the season with. Manchester United’s form of late has been somewhat erratic and their away form in particular has been poor. That said, United do risk dropping into the Europa Conference League should they fail to win here and West Ham win their game this weekend at Brighton. Palace won’t make it easy for United but I think the Red Devils will do just enough to earn a point here.

Norwich City v Tottenham – Away Win

With Norwich City already relegated, Dean Smith is going to be trying to get his team ready for next season, while Spurs will be hoping to ensure that they finish in the Champions League qualification positions with a draw or win here. In truth, this should be a relatively simple task for Antonio Conte’s side. They have been in very good form of late and have lost just one of their last ten games. If Tottenham can beat Manchester City home and away this season, then they should be more than capable of earning a win at Norwich, a team they beat 3-0 back in December.
