Midweek European Acca Tip – 26th – 28th April

We have now reached the semifinal stage of the Champions League, Europa League and Europa Conference League, so with only a couple of games in each tournament, I have decided to bundle together all six games for this midweek accumulator bet, picking four games that I think offer the best value.

There’s plenty of British interest in each of the competitions with five of the six semifinals all featuring a British team and I think the odds are good on the majority of them reaching the final.

In the Champions League we have Manchester City up first on Tuesday as they take on Real Madrid in the first leg of their semi final at the Etihad. Then on Wednesday the action switches to Anfield where in-form Liverpool will host the giantkillers Villarreal who have knocked out Juventus and Bayern Munich in the last two rounds.

Then on Thursday night we have the other two competitions and in the Europa League, West Ham face Eintracht Frankfurt, while Scottish side Rangers will face another German side in Red Bull Leipzig. The Hammers play their first leg at home while Rangers are on the road.

Then in the Europa Conference League we have Leicester City facing off against AS Roma in one quality semi final first leg while in the other Dutch side Feyenoord will take on Marseille in Rotterdam.

All those games this week kick off at 8pm and narrowing them down to four for this set of tips wasn’t easy, but in the end, I’ve stuck with the British teams for this accumulator, which isn’t the greatest value but which I think stands a solid chance of success.

Bet Analysis: Tuesday 26th April

Manchester City v Real Madrid – Home Win

After another solid performance at home at the weekend against relegation bound Watford, Manchester City face a much sterner test in midweek against Chelsea’s conquerors in the last round, Real Madrid. The Spanish side are the most decorated side in the competition’s history, while City are yet to win the trophy that their manager and owner most covets. City put Real Madrid out of the competition last season and they will be confident of doing that again here after beating Real home and away. Real though have Karim Benzema bang in form and he will punish City if they are slack defensively. However, at home, I think City will do enough to take a strong lead into the second leg in Madrid.

Bet Analysis: Wednesday 27th April

Liverpool v Villarreal – Home Win

I’ve tipped Villarreal to lose in their last two rounds against Juventus and Bayern Munich but they have surprised me both times. However, as good as the Spanish side have been playing in those games and domestically, I think their good fortune is set to run out here against a Liverpool side who have been in superb form of late. The Spanish side will be hoping that they can keep things tight at Anfield and perhaps hit Liverpool on the break as some sides have done well of late, but Liverpool are so dangerous going forward that even if they do concede a goal, I would still expect them to land a win that will put them in a strong position heading into the second leg next week.

Bet Analysis: Thursday 28th April

West Ham United v Eintracht Frankfurt – Home Win

West Ham won’t be underestimating Frankfurt in this game with the German side putting out Barcelona with a fantastic display at the Nou Camp in the second leg. However, I do think that this Barcelona side is still nowhere near the quality of other teams they have had and I think West Ham away may well offer the Germans a much sterner test. David Moyes men have been brilliant in this competition this season and there is nothing I’d like more than for them to go on to the final to meet Rangers there. Whether both can get through I am not sure, but I do feel West Ham will take a narrow lead into the second leg in Germany.

Leicester City v AS Roma – Home Win

The Foxes may not have enjoyed a great season domestically but after falling short in the Europa League, they have done well in the Conference League in Europe and now face a semifinal against AS Roma. The Italians don’t have too many happy memories of playing English teams of late, suffering some heavy defeats against the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United and while Leicester are not at that level, i still think the Foxes will do enough to take a narrow lead into the second leg in Rome next week which will certainly set up a thrilling second leg.
