Premier League Acca – Matchday 9 – 21st & 22nd October

We were so unlucky last time around. We’d put together a huge odds fourfold bet and just one result, Everton v Bournemouth let us down, with the other three all coming in at long odds.

That would have been another win this season and one that would have been worth over £1,410 in total. Frustrating isn’t the word!

Thankfully, we’ve said goodbye to the international fixtures for another month and we are back on track this week with a set of Premier League games at the weekend, then we have Champions League and Europa League tips next week, followed by another set of Premier League games next weekend too!

So it’s a busy time of it for me!

This weekend we have a trio of derby games to enjoy in the Premier League this weekend kicking off with the Merseyside derby at Anfield as Liverpool host Everton in the 12.30pm kick off on Saturday.

Then in the evening we have Chelsea hosting Arsenal in what should be a cracking London derby and then on Monday night, league leaders Tottenham will host Fulham in what will be the third derby game of a busy weekend.

Alongside those games there are a few other crackers including Manchester City hosting Brighton, Sheffield United facing Manchester United and on Sunday Aston Villa will take on West Ham at Villa Park.

Let’s take a look now at my tips for this weekend’s games.

EPL Bet Analysis: Saturday 21st October

Brentford v Burnley – Home Win

Both of these teams come into this game in dire need of a victory. Brentford have not won any of their last five, while Burnley’s sole win has come at home to Luton, the team one place above them in the Premier League table. Brentford will also be seething at the fact that they let a 1-0 lead end up as a 2-1 defeat at Old Trafford due to two goals in injury time by the home side. Thomas Frank will know that his team will need a reaction to that result to get back on track and to avoid letting this season get away from them. A home game against Burnley is a great opportunity to do that and I think that the home side will indeed claim that victory.

Bournemouth v Wolverhampton Wanderers – Away Win

Is it crisis time at Bournemouth? Andoni Iraola came to the club with much fanfare and after some promising performances, fans hoped results would soon follow. However they have not and with no wins and just three draws this season , the Cherries lie in the drop zone. In contrast, Wolves have hit some better form of late and they are unbeaten in their last three Premier League games, earning a win over Manchester City in that run. The visitors will feel that this is a good time to face the home side, especially after their sobering 3-0 defeat at Everton last time out. I can’t imagine there will be too many goals in this game but the majority of them will go the way of Wolves I feel.

Chelsea v Arsenal – Away Win

Saturday’s early evening game sees two London giants clash at Stamford Bridge as hosts Chelsea take on unbeaten Arsenal in what should be a cracking London derby game. The Gunners have the upper hand in most recent fixtures, winning seven of the last eight games between the two teams, Chelsea though have found a little form of late, winning their last two and while their injury crisis is still problematic, with no fewer than 14 first team players out injured, they can still field a strong side here. They are going to need to as they face an Arsenal side brimming with confidence after beating Manchester City last time out. Chelsea may be at home here, but I think it will be Arsenal that earn the victory in this game.

Premier League Bet Analysis: Sunday 22nd October

Aston Villa v West Ham United – Home Win

Aston Villa’s superb home record means that they will start Sunday’s game as the favourites to win, but you overlook a West Ham side that have lost just once on the road this season at your peril. The Hammers have been looking so much stronger under David Moyes this season in the EPL and they are backing that up with some notable performances, such as a 3-1 win at Brighton a few weeks back. However, they are going to be facing an Aston Villa side that have been in exceptional form at home over the last few weeks and who will feel that they could sustain a challenge for the top four spots if they can continue this great run of form. I do think there will be goals in this game at both ends of the pitch but my money is on Aston Villa claiming the win.
