Premier League Acca Tip – 16th & 17th October

After the international break, which once again saw us hit an annoying 50% of selections, we thankfully return back to the Premier League this weekend, although we only have nine games taking place across Saturday and Sunday, due to Arsenal facing Crystal Palace at the Emirates on Monday night.

Even so, there are a couple of very interesting matches including an all Midlands affair as Aston Villa face Wolves and a London derby on Saturday tea time as Brentford host Chelsea at the Community Stadium.

Both Manchester Clubs are in action too as Manchester City face a home game with Burnley, while Manchester United face a tricky trip to Leicester City although the Foxes are not in the best of form having won just one of their last five games, dropping to 13th in the table.

Other games on Saturday see Watford taking on Liverpool at Vicarage Road, Southampton facing Leeds and bottom club Norwich City taking on Brighton.

There will be plenty of interest in Sunday’s two games too as we start with Everton facing West Ham at Goodison Park in what should be a very interesting match up between these two teams followed by Newcastle United’s home game against Tottenham as the now richest club in the world play their first game at St James’ Park under new owners.

It’s great to have the Premier League back again after the break and I think I have put together a cracking accumulator bet for this weekend with the following selections.

Bet Analysis: Saturday 16th October

Leicester City v Manchester United – Away Win

Manchester United have enjoyed a decent start to the season but their form of late has not been as solid, losing two of their last four games in all competitions, winning just the one. They now face another tricky trip to Leicester City, a team that has been disappointing this season for manager Brendan Rodgers and whose run of one win in five games has seen them drop to 13th in the Premier League table. There is no doubt that Leicester are much better than that, and they have won both the last two games against United, one in the FA Cup Semi Final last season and the other in the league at Old Trafford. However, Leicester have been giving away soft goals of late and they can’t do that against United as they will be punished and as such, I think they will pick up the win here.

Brentford v Chelsea – Away Win

Brentford have put in some superb performances in the Premier League this season already, with their draw with Liverpool arguably the best game of the season so far for neutral fans. Chelsea had a bit of a wobble with two defeats in two games before they bounced back with a 3-1 win over Southampton before the international break. Brentford have been a breath of fresh air in the Premier League this season and have beaten Arsenal at home, but I think this Chelsea side is made of much sterner stuff and they will do just enough to pick up what could be a vital win here. However, Brentford are not going to make this easy for their London neighbours.

Bet Analysis: Sunday 17th October

Everton v West Ham – Away Win

Last season, both these teams won the away fixture between them and in truth away teams have had the better in this fixture in recent times with just two home wins in the last seven games between the teams. Everton are developing into a very good team under Rafa Benitez but they have shown some issues on defense, especially in their 3-0 defeat at Aston Villa a few weeks back. West Ham have stumbled a little after a solid start but I fancy them to get a job done here. The Hammers have been better on the road than at home for some time now and I think they can spring a surprise and get the win here.

Newcastle United v Tottenham – Draw

Newcastle United are the richest club in the world nowadays after their recent takeover and that should guarantee a much happier crowd at St James’ Park this weekend. Spurs recent form has not been very good at all and with Harry Kane yet to score a Premier League goal, they have been struggling to find the net in recent games and they have dropped down the table as a result. Newcastle though are without a win this season, though they have drawn three games and been tough to beat, they are lacking confidence. I feel the St James’ Park faithful and a new era will give them a big boost here, so I can’t see them losing. It’s only I can’t see them winning either and as such a draw looks the best option.
