Premier League Matchday 12 Acca – 11th, 12th November

I don’t really know what to make of last weeks tips. I didn’t win of course, but given that four of the top five teams in the division didn’t muster a win, the bottom team – without a win all season – landed a win and the only unbeaten team in the division, were beaten, it was one of those weeks where I think everyone struggled to land any of their tips.

That does happen from time to time. There was a weekend a short time ago where Man City, Man Utd, Liverpool and Everton all lost their games, which again doesn’t happen very often at all.

So I’m not going to beat myself up too much over last week’s tips. I did get one game right, but the others were victims of those unusual results that I mentioned.

Still, it gives me plenty of motivation to put things right this weekend after a busy week of European games. We have all ten games taking place over the weekend, five on Saturday and five on Sunday and there is one notable standout fixture taking place.

That is Sunday’s afternoon kick off between Chelsea, 4-1 winners at Tottenham last weekend in one of the strangest Premier League games I have ever seen, and Manchester City, the current treble champions.

Other key games see West Ham taking on Nottingham Forest, Crystal Palace hosting Everton, Man Utd facing Luton, Tottenham travelling north to take on Wolves, Liverpool hosting Brentford and Arsenal at home to Burnley.

I do feel that this week’s set of games is much more agreeable for putting together an accumulator and it will be more a case of trying to find some value, rather than struggling for results to pick this week.

So let’s get cracking with this selection of tips for this coming weekend.

EPL Bet Analysis: Saturday 11th November

Wolves v Tottenham – Away Win

So, how will Tottenham react to finally being beaten last weekend? It was a crazy game against Chelsea, which saw two Spurs defenders sent off in Udogie and Romero (with both suspended for this game), as well as injuries to Maddison and Van de Ven, although Maddison may be fit for this game. It wasn’t the greatest weekend for Wolves either as they became the first team to lose to Sheffield United this season, which came on the back of five games unbeaten. So it is fair to say I am expecting a reaction from both these teams ahead of this game, but I think that Spurs have the extra quality in attack that will be enough for them to claim the win in what should be an interesting game between two sides who have generally been well-matched when they have met in recent times.

Bournemouth v Newcastle United – Away Win

Bournemouth were soundly beaten by Manchester City last weekend and that 6-1 thrashing means that they dropped into the relegation zone due to that and Luton’s point against Liverpool last weekend. I can’t see this getting any better for Andoni Iraola’s team against a Newcastle side who will be smarting from their second Champions League defeat in two games at the hands of Dortmund. However, in between, they have beaten Arsenal at St James’ Park and as such, I am very confident that despite the long trip south, Eddie Howe’s current team will get one over on his former employers.

EPL Bet Analysis: Sunday 12th November

West Ham United v Nottingham Forest – Home Win

West Ham have lost all their last three Premier League games to drop into the bottom half of the table after a bright start, while Forest have lost just one of their last five games in the competition.  With just one point between them now, and very similar goals record this promises to be a very close game indeed. Forest were excellent when beating Aston Villa last week, but that was at home and they have struggled on the road at times this season. West Ham’s home form isn’t the greatest but I think they should have enough quality to earn the win here and get back to winning ways in front of their home fans.

Chelsea v Manchester City – Away Win

Chelsea earned a crazy 4-1 win over Spurs last weekend, chiefly due to Spurs having two men sent off in what proved to be an incredibly incident packed game. Nicolas Jackson grabbed a hat-trick which will be a huge boost to his confidence but it is hard to look at this result and assume that Chelsea could do something similar against another top of the table team this week. Manchester City have won all of the last six between these two teams without conceding a single goal and they have handed Chelsea some big defeats in recent times. I can’t see the home side having enough to get something from this game here and as such, I am backing City to land the win.
