Premier League Matchday 3 Acca – 26th, 27th August

After the £260+ win on the opening weekend of the Premier League season, we hit 50% of our tips last week, which was a tad disappointing.

So I am looking forward to trying to bounce back this week with this new set of four selections for my weekly EPL accumulator!

We have an almost full selection of games to pick from this week with only the Chelsea V Luton game taking place on Friday night not available for my picks across Saturday and Sunday.

There’s also some intriguing games to look forward to including top of the table Brighton taking on West Ham in what should be a cracking battle between the two.

Then on Sunday we have a cracking game in store at St James Park as Newcastle United take on Liverpool. The Reds did the double over Newcastle last season and have not been beaten by the Magpies in the last 13 games.

Can Eddie Howe’s new look Newcastle end that run on Sunday afternoon, or will Liverpool continue their dominance of the fixture that has seen them win all of the last four games between the two?

Let’s take a closer look at the four games that I have selected for my accumulator this weekend!

Premier League Bet Analysis: Saturday 26th August

Everton v Wolves – Draw

Both these teams sit at the foot of the table, with no points, and not much going for them in either of their first two games. While Wolves did well at Man Utd and were unlucky not to get a point there, they were well beaten last weekend, as were Everton at Aston Villa. As such this is now an important game for both teams as they will seek to pick up the win that will move them away from the bottom of the table in this fledgling stage of the season. The only problem I see here is that both teams have looked leaky defensively and a bit toothless up front. As such, I think the sensible option here is to go for both teams to break their points duck by claiming a draw in this one.

Manchester United v Nottingham Forest – Home Win

Manchester United’s performances so far this season have not done Erik Ten Hag any favours as his team landed a fortunate win over Wolves and were then beaten last weekend by an excellent Tottenham Hotspurs, who played far better than I expected to in what was a tough game. United have the chance to land another home win here against a Forest side who are attractive to watch but who do ship goals at an alarming rate against the top sides. United’s home form is excellent and they are unbeaten at home since before the start of last season and I can’t see this Forest team denting that record here.

Brighton v West Ham – Home Win

The Seagulls sit proudly at the top of the Premier League after winning both their opening games, and they now face a West Ham side who are undefeated having drawn and won their opening two matches. Roberto De Zerbi’s team may have lost a number of key players in the summer, but they have bought wisely once again and their star men who broke through last season are all firing already. Winger Solly March must surely be close to an England call up with his great form of last season continuing into this and while West Ham did well to beat Chelsea last week, I don’t think that they will manage to repeat that success on the south coast.

EPL Bet Analysis: Sunday 27th August

Newcastle United v Liverpool – Draw

Both of these teams have had a tough start to the season with two tough fixtures in their opening three games. Liverpool have the better of this fixture in recent times including doing the double over Newcastle in both the last two seasons. In fact, the Magpies have not beaten Liverpool in any of their last 13 games between the sides. Eddie Howe will be hoping his new look Newcastle side can break that run on Sunday and with Tonali and Isak in superb form, they stand a good chance. However, Liverpool are looking resilient and despite defensive issues, I think they are good enough to earn a share of the spoils here.
