Weekend Acca Tip – 18th & 19th January

What a way to kick off 2020, with a fantastic acca result last weekend which saw us Acca Tipsland over £300 in clear profit, not bad especially since I picked up another £300+ win with another fivefold acca!

I’ve been saying that I’ve been owed a good weekend for some time and it could have been even better as I had another acca for the Saturday miss out by just one goal as Wolves failed to secure a winner against Newcastle that would have seen a further £200+ added to that amount!

So that means that we are starting the year 2020 and the new decade as we finished the last one, healthily in profit and looking forward to trying to add to that number with this weekend’s selection of tips.

There’s some crucial games this weekend especially at the bottom of the table with Norwich v Bournemouth and Brighton v Aston Villa catching the eye. However it is Sunday’s clash at Anfield between Liverpool and Manchester United which will attract most interest, especially with United being the only team to have taken a point off Liverpool all season long so far.

So can we land another big win this weekend with this set of tips? Here’s the games that I am backing this weekend to try and achieve precisely that.

Bet Analysis: Saturday 18th January 2020

Watford v Tottenham – Home Win

These two teams have suffered somewhat contrasting fortunes over the last few weeks. Since losing at Liverpool, Watford have picked up an incredible 13 points out of the last 15 available to move off the bottom of the table and out of the relegation places, an incredible performance under new boss Nigel Pearson. Tottenham over the same number of games have picked up just four points and last weekend were somewhat lacklustre losing at home to Liverpool. Watford are only second to Liverpool in terms of recent form and I think having beaten Man Utd at home just a few weeks back, they will be well up for this game and I can see them securing another big three points here against a Spurs side struggling for its identity under Mourinho.

Norwich City v Bournemouth – Draw

Both of these teams are in a desperate run of form with Bournemouth picking up just one win in their last 12, while for Norwich it is even worse. The Canaries have played some lovely attacking football this season but their defence is the problem, having conceded a league high 45 goals already this season. Bournemouth were devastated by injuries a while back which played a big part in their downfall, but they are slowly getting players back to full fitness. The problem is, they don’t look very confident. This is a must win game for Norwich but in truth, even against an out of sorts Bournemouth, I am not confident they can get that result here. As such, I think a draw is the most likely outcome.

West Ham v Everton – Home Win

The David Moyes derby pits two of the three Premier League side he has managed against each other here with Moyes back in charge at West Ham. He’ll face an Everton side that managed to land a much-needed win at home to Brighton last weekend after the FA Cup debacle against Liverpool. It seems self-evident that Carlo Ancelotti will likely want to make many changes to this Everton squad, most likely in the summer, so there are more than a few players playing for their future under the Italian. Neither of these sides have great form heading into this game, though Everton’s is slightly better, but even so, I still feel home advantage and Moyes knowhow will be enough for the home side to pick up a much-needed win.

Bet Analysis: Sunday 19th January 2020

Liverpool v Manchester United – Home Win

Manchester United remain the only side to have taken a point off Liverpool this season following a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford back in October, but this promises to be a massive test for the Red Devils at the home of the European and World Champions. Liverpool have not lost in 51 EPL games at home, their last defeat coming in April 2017. They have dropped just two points all season and won all their EPL home games in the process. United will try to hit Liverpool using pace on the counter and they may have a little success doing it, but even so, I expect Liverpool to dominate possession and eventually break United down to claim another big win.
