Weekend Premier League Acca – 27th & 28th February

Ahead of the Europa League accumulator tonight, I have hit 2 out of 4 matches on both my last accumulators. That is somewhat frustrating to be honest but to be honest, I don’t know too many people who tipped Chelsea to beat Atletico Madrid (but if you did, well done!)

Anyway, I am hoping my good luck and form in the Europa League continues with tonight’s games and hopefully lands us a win ahead of this set of tips in the Premier League this coming weekend.

We have a full complement of games from Saturday lunchtime through to Monday night but don’t blink as from Tuesday there is another set of seven games being played through to Thursday, so we will bring you an additional set of tips for those games next week too (which includes a big game at Anfield as Liverpool try to end their awful home run against resurgent Chelsea).

This weekend, Chelsea are involved in an equally big game as they put their unbeaten record under Thomas Tuchel on the line against a Manchester United side who have won eight and drawn four of their 12 away league games this season. Will something give on Sunday in this clash that has plenty of implications for the top four positions in the Premier League?

We also have a big game at the Etihad Stadium as Manchester City will be keen to keep their incredible run of wins going against fourth placed West Ham United, undoubtedly the surprise team of the Premier League season so far. The teams drew 1-1 at the London Stadium back in October and no doubt David Moyes would love a similar result in Manchester on Saturday.

Here’s my tips for this weekend’s action in the EPL.

Bet Analysis: Saturday 27th February

Manchester City v West Ham – Home Win

Can anybody stop Manchester City? I think I ask myself this question for every set of tips and I look at the game and think ‘no, they won’t be able to’. I feel a bit mean doing the same to West Ham who have, by and large, been superb this season to lie fourth in the Premier League table. The Hammers did hold City to a 1-1 draw back in October on home soil but City were a different team back then and at the moment, they look pretty much close to unbeatable as any team has. What is worrying is that they have been without De Bruyne and Aguero for a number of their last few games and their performances have just improved. You can’t back against City in any game at the moment so I am not going to here.

Leeds United v Aston Villa – Home Win

Leeds United have won their last two home games without conceding a goal and scoring five in the process. Villa have managed just four goals in their last five games, winning just the once and they also have some doubts over whether their talismanic midfielder Jack Grealish will be fully fit for this game. Without him they struggled against Leicester last week and I can see that being the case here too. Leeds won 3-0 at Villa Park earlier in the season and while this won’t be as easy, I am still backing them to land a third home win in a row.

Bet Analysis: Sunday 28th February

Leicester City v Arsenal – Home Win

People keep wondering if the Leicester bubble will burst but Brendan Rodgers men are unbeaten in their last five Premier League games and seem to have exorcised the demons that caused them some issues at home earlier in the season. Arsenal’s form has gone back to being erratic after a decent run a few weeks back and it is clear Mikel Arteta has plenty of work to do, especially in midfield and attack, to get this team where he wants them. There won’t be too many goals in this one I feel but any that are scored will likely go in favour of Leicester I feel.

Chelsea v Manchester United – Draw

Sunday’s massive clash is a huge game for both sides. Chelsea have won six and drawn two under Thomas Tuchel, while Man Utd are unbeaten all season long away from home in the Premier League. Defeat for either would see one of those records go but I have the sneaky feeling that both will be intact after the game. Chelsea’s improvement in defence means that they should be able to cope better with United’s attack, while I feel United have also been more solid defensively of late too. I think these are two well-matched teams and as such a draw, either 0-0 or 1-1, looks the most likely outcome.
