How To Place Your First Ever Yankee Online

Do you want to know exactly how to place a Yankee bet on the internet? Then you’ve come to the right place as our step by step guide should be right up your street.

It’s easy to place a Yankee online and only takes a few clicks of a button to do. You will however need a betting account to get your started. Read our steps below to get started:

Step 1 – Open Account & Log In

We’re using BetVictor for our guide so if you don’t have an account with them click here to sign up and bet £10 to get £40 in bonuses today as a new customer.

So, first of all (once you have an account), you will need – naturally – to log in to the site – click here to log in now. Simply enter your details in the boxes in the top right of the screen after clicking the above link and click login.

Step 2 – Find Your Sport

Top Sports at BetvictorThe beauty of Yankee betting is that you place one on a wide variety of sports, with football and horse racing particular favourites. If you prefer to back low risk then football is your better bet, but if you like pushing the boat out then you will find plenty of value on the horses.

For ease of reference, we are going to place this Yankee on football.

If you don’t see your preferred sport at first then don’t worry: a quick navigation of the site should unearth it. In this Bet Victor example we would just click on ‘All Sports’, and on other websites a similar theme will be in place.

Step 3 – Select Your League

If like us you want to bet on the ‘beautiful game’, then you will click on the ‘football’ link and be taken to the relevant page.

Depending on your location, the various divisions will be displayed in front of you. As we’re in the UK, the English leagues are listed at the top as a default. But if you have vast knowledge of the Spanish, German, Italian or French leagues – to name but a few examples – then you can find these listed too.

We’re going to stick to the English Premier League for now though.

Step 4 – Select Your Market

Match Betting TabNow, there’s a lot to take in on the next screen, but for now let’s stick to the basics. We’re going to be betting on the results of four matches, so we will click on the match betting tab.

There are other options of course; as you can see, we have Both Teams to Score (BTTS), Match Result & BTTS, Over/Under 2.5 goals….the list goes on so take your pick and click the relevant button.

Step 5 – Make Your Selections

As you will know by now, for a Yankee we need four selections. It depends on your attitude towards betting in general – whether you like to keep your risk to a minimum or risk it for a biscuit – as to how your selections shape up.

But regardless of your strategy, we think it is essential to pick at least three bankers (if such a thing exists in modern football!). This will, hopefully, help you return a few doubles and a treble from your eleven bets.

The fourth pick is up to you: you could go for another solid bet, or push the boat out and add a longshot that will significantly increase your odds. We’re going down the safe route, but it really is up to you.

Yankee Bet SlipSo let’s take a look at our selections (see graphic right).

We could go into the rationale for these bets in great depth, but suffice to say for now we simply feel that these are based on sound judgement and all have a strong chance of coming in.

You can see our individual selections are highlighted in blue on the fixture list, and these have also been added to our bet slip in the top right-hand corner of the screen.

Step 6 – Placing Your Yankee

Once you have gotten to this stage, you will notice that a few different types of bet are available underneath your betslip. Ignore the others for the time being and head straight for the Yankee.

Now all you need to do is enter your stake in the box. Remember, a Yankee is a combination of eleven bets, so you will have two stakes:

1) Your Unit Stake for Each Bet (which in our example is £1)
2) Your Total Stake for the Yankee (which in our example is £11)

If you are happy with your selections, scroll down the page a bit further and click on ‘Place Bets Now’.

Good Luck – the hardest part isn’t knowing how to place a Yankee bet it’s winning one!
