How It Works – Deposit & Withdrawing
How do I fund my account?
To use your Entropay virtual prepaid card to fund your betting account, simply ensure you have loaded enough money onto your card from a funding source and then head to your chosen betting site and log in.
When you have logged in, visit the ‘My Account’ section and click on the ‘Deposit’ option.
You then need to select the Entropay option and enter the requested details to register this payment method with your bookie. This will require you to enter in your card details, as well as some other personal details and account password.
Select how much you want to deposit into your betting account from your Entropay Card account (ensuring there is enough cash on the card to fund the deposit) and then click the proceed button.
Deposits using Entropay are usually instantaneous when successful and as such, you should find your funds in your account ready for you to use almost immediately.
How do I withdraw?
It is a very simple process to transfer winnings from your account back to your Entropay card, however there are a couple of things you need to check before instigating the transaction to ensure that it goes through.
1) Can the funds be withdrawn, are all bonus/wagering requirements met?
2) Do you have enough in your account to cover your withdrawal amount?
3) Is your withdrawal amount within the min or max set by your bookmaker? Entropay limits can be quite high where minimums are concerned (Bet365 is set at £50 for example).
If you meet the criteria above then visit the ‘My Account’ section and click on the option for ‘Withdrawals’.
Find the Entropay card option and check that you can withdraw to this from your account. If you have not used Entropay to make a deposit into your account, then you will likely not be able to withdraw back to this account until you do.
Once selected, enter in the details required to complete the transaction including your Entropay card details, plus your details required by the betting site and not forgetting how much of your balance you want to transfer over.
After this has been completed simply click the proceed button to start the transaction and you should find your funds are deposited back to your Entropay card within 24 hours.
Fee’s: will it cost?
Although Entropay state on their website that they charge a 1.95% fee for payments made from merchants back to an Entropay virtual prepaid card, for all the Entropay betting sites we’ve listed above this fee is waived.
This means that you can deposit and withdraw from your account using this method for free.
However, moving that cash from your Entropay Card back to a bank account, or another payment source to use offline will incur a small fee.
Fee’s:
Process: | Cost: |
Opening account | £0 |
Create Virtual Visa | £0 |
Load card from debit/credit card | 4.95% |
Withdraw from bookmakers | £0 |
Transfer back from merchant | 1.95% |
Pay using card | £0 |
Card back to credit/debit account | £3.00 |
Alternative Methods
As Entropay is a virtual prepaid card, there is no physical credit card that the user possesses. Instead, a virtual card is created online which is loaded with money from your bank account or another source (credit or debit card for example) and you are charged a small fee for the service.
The nearest type of service to this is one of the pre-paid card services offered by the likes of credit card providers Visa and Mastercard.
In each of these cases however, the user would receive an actual prepaid credit or debit card, which would be funded in the same way as the Entropay card, but which can also be used offline as well as online.
One important thing to note about Entropay however is that when making a withdrawal from a sports betting account back to your virtual card, you often have to make a much higher minimum withdrawal compared to other payment methods. In some cases, withdrawals will be five or ten times higher than the minimum permitted withdrawal using other payment methods. This is a particular issue for smaller stakes players.
About Entropay
In the year 2000, the creators of the transaction-based financial services company Ixaris Systems Ltd, realised that there was a growing need for an electronic payment service allowing everyone to pay for something regardless of location or credit rating.
Using Visa as the basis, by 2003, the developers had their final product ready for release and they named it Entropay. It is a virtual pre-paid debit card, that users can use to pay for items online safely and securely and since its inception, it has become one of the most popular methods of online payments used in the world.
The company is certified by the UK Financials Services Authority and is now accepted at millions of merchants, including online betting sites, around the globe. It was the first Virtual Pre-payment card of its kind used in Europe.
In addition to their Virtual Visa pre-paid card, Entropay have added further services to customers that use the method including Bank Transfer services as well as a special for business option for those who use the services for their business needs.
